If free government is the goal (it is) there is no substitute to repeal of the 17th.

As one who posted the series of Repeal the 17th, some 18 years ago or so, I agree in principle that this would be useful. n However, the first thing we should be concentrated on is getting the State legislatures up and reclaiming integrity to our elections.

IF that does not happen in the next 20 months, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.

There is a large difference between expressing an opinion to which one is attached, and persuading others that it is correct, or desirable. The question you might address is this: Why should we return more power to the state legislatures, when those bodies failed, if not refused, to use the power given to them in Article II, Sec. 1, Clause 2, to correct the most fraudulent presidential election in U.S. History?

Good luck convincing anyone on that point.
