A poll released this past weekend indicates a majority – nearly 50 percent – of Trump voters would follow the former President to a new party and abandon the GOP.
The Suffolk University/USA TODAY survey indicates 46 percent of those who voted for Donald Trump in 2020 would join the third party if he were to go that route.
“If there’s a civil war in the Republican Party, the voters who backed Donald Trump in November’s election are ready to choose sides,” USA Today writes. “Behind Trump.”
By contrast, 27 percent of Trump voters said they would stick with the GOP while another 27 percent said they were, as of yet, undecided.

Makes more sense to just take over the GOP and oust the 3% of Republicans who are NeverTrumpers and Liz Chaney and Romney.
We’ve already gotten rid of Flake... we can do this.
In a heart beat. I've already changed my party affiliation to "no party." I have divorced the GOP. I'm tired of their abuse. They are like kids, the only time they know you is when they want something.
Pipe dreams. I've been here over 23 years, and we've been saying that here on FR for that long. It's never going to happen, because the GOP, like the swamp, is too entrenched, too corrupt, and too self-serving. They will never give up power. You can say you'll get rid of all the Rinos, but sooner or later, at some point in time, they all become Rinos.
“Our GOP grandees hate us little people.”
Don’t think it’s hate. They still need us to vote them in so they have to lie just enough to get elected. But by the way they mishandled two impeachment processes, both never should have made it to the senate, Trump’s re-election fallacy laying down like a shot dog, and their lack of support for the successes achieved from a president that the libs said had no experience and getting him slapped for the things he didn’t do that he wasn’t supposed to and dreaming up lies he did do creating an attitude of hatred for him, they aren’t long for this world anyway. They won’t get a GOP vote and no question on the dem vote. Possibly no votes at all.
But I’m curious just how many of these good time Charlies are going to try to catch on to Trumps coat tails if he does switch parties to a new one. It’s going to be a dogpile when the libs ruin all the things Trump built and people get hungry and miserable. A perfect example is Newsome in California concerning his c-19 performance by itself. Complete cluster-zuck.

And the leadership of the DNC has nothing in common with their rank and file, either.
If there’s to be a new third party, I believe it should be based on the common man, and his concerns. A new populist uprising, against the ruling class of both parties. No Billionaires allowed, too many back room deals. And that would include Trump.
No member of my household, 5 registered voters, will cast a ballot for a republican above the state level.
Period.
I abandoned the GOP during Obama’s rein. But I will not join a Trump party. Political parties exist to support the party and nothing more.

CORRECT! In Texas, we are already well on our way toward doing exactly that!
If anybody has to bail out of the GOP, it will be the Rinos, never-Trumpers and Deep Staters.

Trump managed to get a lot of us to stay in and the Turtle realized it. Now that McConnell has shown himself, I think that most of us have had enough. So in that regards, I do not think they can say or do anything to stave off the movement that Trump has reignited. Just my opinion, but we will definitely see.
