A new Quinnipiac University poll out Wednesday shows Americans think Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA) more exemplifies the Republican Party than Rep. Liz Cheney (WY).
The poll is almost certainly meant to convey just how far adrift the Republican party has become in the eyes of the media but in reality, it is more emblematic of how difficult it is going to be for the GOP to separate themselves from supporters of former President Trump.
Alienating Trump means alienating your conservative base.
And that base wants fighters regardless of their past controversial comments – which Greene has apologized for – not people who bow down to the Democrats and the mainstream media at the first sign of a manufactured crisis – which Cheney has not apologized for.

Good. I hope the rest of them feel the same way.
Most of the office holders are more like Cheney, most of the voters want somebody more like Marjorie.
The Liz Cheney's should leave!!
We built the party!! WE BUILT THAT!!
cheney needs to be voted out.
1 of ping.
90% need voting out, it seems
I wonder who will be the most delusional NT candidate running in 2024. At least Joe Manchin has the good sense not to even bother in his primary, a lesson Jim Webb learned early in 2016.
I hope we also get to a point where garbage candidates like John Kasich and Mitt Romney stay the hell away, but they don’t call the GOP The Stupid Party for nothing.
Progressives just don’t understand how anyone can disagree with them.
Quinnipiac is mostly left and mostly “not right” in their polling. Even before 2014 mid terms. The message they are sending is that the GOP is full of white racists aka Trumpers with MTG.
The GOP belongs to the voters, who are overwhelmingly pro-Trump.
Why should WE leave? Purge the RINOs who made the 2020 steal possible by their inaction.
I agree with this poll.
We have to hold together, and not let the fifth columnists define us. We lost one of our best voices last Wednesday, but others will rise up, and we must be willing to speak up even at the cost of our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.
There is no GOP without Trump and his supporters anymore. If the Cheneys, McConnells and Romneys want a Democrat-Lite party to call their own, they’ll need to leave the Republican Party and go create their own.
Murkowsky, Thune, Hoeven, Blunt, Grassley, Lankford, Lee, Scott and Rubio are all Bush League Republicans and should have primary challengers.
If we are serious about taking over the GOP, every one of these must be replaced in 2022.
When I go to your source link all I see is a blank page. I mean there’s a ton of javascript on it but it’s totally blank.
the establishment part of the GOP threw the first punch...and have never stopped. I font want to hear about keeping Cheney in her position...or mitch throwing another pinch at Trump.. or the ones who voted to impeach..
go back home and ask those who sent you there to serve..
you are way out of sync with we the people.. that’s why we voted for Trump..and you had to go and steal the presidency and give it to a commie...
This will not stand.... you have a position but you don’t have the whole power to run ramshod over the will of the voters
75% support Trump to run the party!!!!
I hope so. GOPe can suck an egg.
Until every GOP member is HATED by the media, we are not safe.
