Because he TOTALLY stepped in it, and you know that. No one gave a crape about what Cruz was doing until he jetted off to a resort in the tropics while people that he represents were literally freezing to death.

Very bad optics. If he gets a real primary challenge he's toast. Nobody likes Ted Cruz except for Ted Cruz.

I think he probably wants to run for president again but I don’t think that would go well for him.
