The New York Times has taken eco-nuttiness to a new level by publishing a podcast speculating whether the solution to fighting climate change will include — wait for it — dimming the sun.
Times opinion columnist Ezra Klein took his new interview podcast of global warming fearmonger Elizabeth Kolbert and turned it into an op-ed. Klein began his piece with a creepy quote from environmentalist Stewart Brand, “‘We are as gods and might as well get good at it.’” He later spewed that one solution he was obsessed with for fighting climate change was “solar geoengineering … Are we really going to dim the sun?”
Klein’s predominant disagreement with Brand was that he was “overly optimistic. We did not get good at [being gods]. We are terrible at it, and the consequences surround us.” In effect, according to Klein, we should consider that we may end up having no other choice than to be “gods” and “dim the sun.”

Despite its pretenses, the left actually hates nature. They fill our rural areas and coastlines with endless miles of wind turbines, and hack away at the human body to try to change gender. They worship ugliness, and destroy everything they touch.
I’ll be happy to have some dim sum to fight climate change, so long as Ezra’s buying.
Other than his overblown rhetoric that we clap our hands and dim the sun’s output to earth, there has been the thought and we shade large parts of the world with sheet film that can control the amount of sun to the earth. Not a new concept but getting the materials would be have to mined in space as it would be cost prohibitive for earth manufacturing. I believe an epic level of ecological hubris and denial is strong with withs journalist.
I believe the time of mega flora and fauna was quite a bit warmer with much higher CO2 concentrations.
There is a greater diversity of species at warmer temperatures.
And they don’t consider man as part of nature.
The Sun is going to expand and engulf the inner planets in a billion or so years, so the shield had better be REALLY strong!

The Sun is indeed the determinant factor of the temperature of earth.
It’s folly to try to tax it or regulate it.
That’s all progressives know how to do.
Mister Klein needs to join his fellow lunatic John Effing Kerry at the “Climate Czar” department so they can go crazy together and go take on the Sun.
