Sometimes kids get in trouble and you have to come down on them.
Depending on the situation, you may have to come down on them
harder than you really want to, but they have to get the
message and get back on track.
So I do have some empathy for him, if that was the case. If
as I suspect they aren’t very close to him because he’s gone
all the time, and then he wanted them to act like they were
really close, they may have resented that a lot.
