Vanity- Looking for a new phone compatible with Verizon
Jan 31, 2021

I recently bought a new flip phone that Verizon was offering a good deal on. It’s an Alcatel Go Flip V.

I loved my old LG flip phone but it was not wi-fi compatible so I had to get one that was. The Alcatel is and that’s the single only good thing I have to say about the phone.

The phone is flat out awful. It has a terrible selection of ringtones, is difficult to set up, the texting is terrible and you cannot forward texts, the image quality is awful for pictures received (they look like a negative of the picture), I had to even look up how to set the alarm, and it is not intuitive in the least.

Does anyone out there know of a good flip phone that works with Verizon? I do NOT want a smart phone. All I want is wi-fi calling, texting, and an occasional photo, and the ability to forward stuff like my old phone did.

I must have wi-fi calling as we get no cell service at our present location.

No, I wasn’t aware of that.

Interesting that Verizon owns Tracfone.

The texting software is awful and I cannot forward texts if I want.

Aside from the wi-fi, this phone was a step back about 20 years from my old phone.

My old one, an LG, was very user friendly and intuitive.

I never had to go to the instruction manual to figure out how to do anything on it.

I accidentally got it to read out loud a text message once, and for all my research, was never able to find out how on the internet. The folks at the Verizon store said it was not a feature the phone had.
