Should Trump create The Patriot Party or reform the GOP?
The Conservative Brief ^ | 1/20/21 | Martin Walsh

This is a serious question. There are pros and cons of reforming the GOP and creating The Patriot Party. Is starting a new party better or purging the GOP of corruption and self-interests.

You are correct. People close to me have worked inside national GOP organizations. Trust me, attempting to reform the GOP will never work because it is more of a club than it is a political party. Monied interests own, control and run it. They party pays lip service to its voters but in actuality harbors nothing but disdain for them.

Reagan couldn’t change the party. Neither could Trump.

The GOP is what it is. A soulless, weak and unprincipled party that stands for nothing and refuses to fight for anything.

Trump IS the GOP, he just needs to fire a bunch, starting at the top and replacing her with a patriot like himself who has the guts to fight. Like Jordan.

Reform the GOP? LOL! The fact that Lizzy the back stabber Cheney is still the GOP whip says it all. In a normal party she would have been put on the back bench last week.

A third party would fracture the conservative base and forever hand power to the dimrats. Imagine what has happened to the people's republik of kalifornia on a national level.

The only feasible option is to take over the GOP and kick out all the RINOs.

One of the issues with reforming the party is that incumbents enjoy a lot of power and financial advantage when it comes to elections. To remove some of those old RHINOs will be very difficult. In addition, voters, yes including Republicans, often go with the name they know rather than the challenger. Perfect example is Liz Cheney in Wy where I am. Yes many here are against her because of her impeachment vote but I’d lay odds it is 50-50 whether we can vote her out in next election. So, to me it is a tossup whether to start a new party of take over the old one. Each has its significant chanllenges.

The Tea Patty was never a party, it was a label the media used to describe people who were tired of the same old politics. It fit into a sound bite and didn’t require to much intellectual effort by the media to sue it.

Can we at least give it a shot in 2022 and see what happens. Even if you don’t believe in elections, at least make one last effort to vote against every Republican incumbent in the Primary.

No, the GOP can caucus with the Patriots only if we want them.

The GOP will implode with no support, no money, no confidence, and no voters. Ironically, its rapid and well deserved demise could actually wind up leaving us with two parties again.

Don’t ignore the power of an energized movement and how quickly it can gain traction. There’s already a critical mass of people willing to join and support a party that stands for something.

The GOP has alienated tens of millions of voters. It was too arrogant and stupid to see what happened to Fox News and it too will pay a price.

But back to my previous comment, if Trump starts a new party do you consider him to be stupid?

These same RINOs will tell you peaceful secession is not an option either. They are holding us down while the left rapes us...

The GOP party is useless.

NO ONE in the GOP party should be allowed to run in the Patriot party. ALL incumbents would be out after 2 years.

He would have 70 million members overnight- that is nearly the entire GOP party.

And the GOP membership (and funding) would be next to nothing.

“Imagine what has happened to the people’s republik of kalifornia on a national level.“

And remind us of the last time the republican party fought for CA. Even though, winning over CA, would mean the republican party would never lose another presidential election. Yet they still do nothing....that alone should tell you something.

They have the winning play in hand but refuse to run it. Why? I submit that the republican party and the democrat party are in on it together. They sit in backrooms together, laughing at us, lighting their cigars off the $100 bills of our productivity.

I am not worried about the GOP dying or not dying. The GOP is not dying any time soon.
My problem is the Dems winning after the GOP vote is split (and they will).
