My carry is a Glock 43. It’s a little smaller and lighter than the 30 and chambered in 9mm, which is plenty enough for me. Great little gun.
I carry with one racked, but only to my rear at about 5:00. I won't carry it appendix, even though I'm fairly comfortable with it's safety.
A lot of negligent discharges occur during re-holstering. I figure, if the gun's out, it's out for a reason, and it likely won't be re-holstered casually.
Is this a newer Gen4 version of the older Gen 3 Glock 30S?
On the Glock website I did the comparison of the G30 and G30S and the only difference looks like weight is 100 grams lighter on the G30S. Seems odd they would have 2 different guns with not much difference at all.
The Glock30 uses the 45ACP, not the 45GAP.
My .45 is of the original design. None of this plastic crap on my hip.
.45auto... it's available but costing more now. Not much available at the gun stores but there is some to be had online. $$$
It is a nice, compact gun, especially if you are in a liberal area with a 10 round mag limit. A hefty little chunk when loaded with 10+1. Cannot carry concealed, do not know how feasible that is with light clothing in summer.
Keep thinking of getting a Glock 29 barrel and some magaizines to see what full power 10mm is like. Still just thinking, last thing i need is another caliber to keep on hand.
I had one and my little girl just got her CDW permit and came home and wanted to see what would be a good carry piece for her. I let her hold a Bersa .380, CZ-82, Bulgarian Makarov, Firestar stainless 9mm, Kel-etc P32, all met with no. She grabs my Glock 43 and turns and says I love it thanks Dad!!!
I just replaced it with a Sig365 and a Mika pocket holster, very happy with 10 rds of JHP in the magazine and one in the chamber.
I can’t get my hand around the Glock 30 for some reason but I love my Glock 29 I carry it in my truck. It takes the 10.mm recoil pretty well. Word of caution, no reloads unless you loaded them. I didn’t listen to that little voice saying no and bought some reloads, at an excellent price. Kaboom on the second round fired. Blew the magazine out, destroyed the magazine release, cut my hand up and cracked the frame. $100 for Glock to replace the frame.
Same grip and frame 29-30, assuming both SF or not? I played around with the various grip backstraps, cannot remember which i settled on.
My 30 is a SF. My biggest beef is the grip angle has my trigger finger dragging on the bottom of the trigger guard with a high hold.
Sadly so.
“That’s located between your ears..”
Which is extremely prone to failure.
???
The Glock 30 went on the market in 1997. I have had one for 20 years.
The XD is based on a Croatian pistol from HS Produkt. Springfield Armory rebadged the HS2000 as the XD-9 in 2002. The XD-45 didn't come out until 2006.
I may be mistake but I believe SA brought the XDS in .45 to market before Glock came out with their compact single stack .45 model.

Maybe mental on the grip with me, I just could not get it to work lol! I held a G30 when they came out and didn’t like it. Flash forward 15 yrs and I looked at a used later generation G29 at my local gun/pawnshop establishment and they made me a heck of a deal on it so it came home with me. The 29 came with two magazines and that was it but it felt great in my hand unlike the G30.
Glock 36 is the compact single stack .45.
Glock 30 is double stack, and earlier than the XD or XDS.
Thanks. I’m no expert on Glock model numbers. Quite honestly they confuse the Hell out of me.
Best,

Glocks are easy.
The Glock 20 is a 10mm
The Glock 22 is a .40
The Glock 38 is a .45 GAP
The Glock 40 is a 10mm
The Glock 45 is a 9mm
And don’t get me started on 3rd gen S&W pistols. You need a chart to tell them apart. No, really, there’s a chart. You can look it up.
Okey Dokey.
