The video you posted a link to has been removed by Youtube/Google. Here is the same video as in your twitter link but full sized and not slowed.

WARNING - GRAPHIC: Shooting of Ashli Babbit

It is being claimed that the Mayor of DC has said that the shooter was a Capitol Hill police officer. Doesn't look like a trained shooter to me. Looks sloppy and fearful and jumps forward when he fires.

Thank you for your comment.

I hope this was an unplanned overreaction and not a “hit” to promote some preplanned narrative.

Is sad to see those in Congress use this young woman’s death to justify anything other than a true investigation of the fraud claims.

Someone posted this tonight and it seems fitting.

n the forest,
In a cave,
Lived a bear,
Fearsome and brave,
Until Lord and craven knave,
To destroy him, hatched a plot,

They were warned
“Don’t poke the bear”
He slumbers deep,
Within his lair,
Don’t rouse him,
From his snoring there,
But again they would listen not,

With pointed stick,
And heavy rod,
Into his sanctum,
Slowly trod,
Then with a swift,
And deadly prod,
They thrust with everything they’d got,

Then suddenly,
He ceased his snores,
Rose up and,
With a fury roared,
Though bloody from
the hole they gored,
Away their spears he swat,

They tried to keep,
His paws at bay,
Some dropped their arms,
And ran away,
He charged into,
The deadly fray,
And vengeance now, He sought,

Eyes now from,
the forest watched,
As flaming arrows,
Then were notched,
The hawk between,
A branches crotch,
Cried out as forth they shot,

Into the beast,
Their shafts now pierced,
But still he roared,
Defiant, fierce,
It echoed, reaching
Distant ears,
Fur burning, bright and hot,

His mighty paws,
With rancor slashed,
And through the flames,
His visage flashed,
As spears and blades,
Opened a gash,
And blood poured from the spot,

Aflame and flagging,
Cornered, pinned,
He stumbled,
And then roared again,
Breathing ragged,
Bleeding skin,
The end, or so they thought,

He fell,
And then his mighty roar,
Was silent,
And he moved no more,
and of their vic’try,
They were sure,
A haughty cry rose from the lot,

But their cheers,
would quickly die,
As those that slept,
Opened an eye,
And from the forest,
Rose a cry,
Witnesses to the battle fought,

Beast and bird,
Lynx, stag and owl,
Packs of wolves,
Let forth a howl,
And from the dark,
Came caw and growl,

Rest assured,

The forest heard,

Asleep, they’re not

Excellent video. Thank you!

Note: The cop firing the shot looks like an average cop to me - not a shooter except to qualify annually.

"The video you posted a link to has been removed by Youtube/Google."

No it hasn't. Go try it again. It has the "Graphic Content" warning up front that you have to click on to get it to run. Also, this 1min-13sec video is NOT at all the same video that you posted (0:45). But taken together, they explain a number of things.

Also, think about that still-photo (posted many places) taken from inside the main chamber that likely was taken a few feet away from this just around the corner to the left, where 3 or 4 plainclothesmen pointed their handguns at one door. If this was that same door, they could easily have heard the angry voices just outside, along with the smashing of the windows flanking the door by that heavy wooden stand, and the loud pounding of palms/fists against glass & wood. (BTW, I hope to hell they can ID the person who wielded it and smashed out the windows). The shooter was standing in that doorway when he fired on a diagonal line from his door to the window Ashli was climbing through. The short distance from her (6 ft?) and the nearly-perpendicular angle to her meant that he couldn't miss her and that no one else was in the line of fire; just the wall to her right. Too tempting of an easy shot for him to pass up?

Looking at the longer video, there seems to be some very unfortunate timing that led to Ashli's death, in that none of the LEO's on her side of the door were looking in her direction (except for one whose vision was blocked because he's standing on a down-stair) at the moment she decided to climb through the window. And she moved VERY quickly too. This meant nobody on the inside of the door could see her and stop her, leaving only the shooter by himself on the other side to make a life or death decision. (IMHO it *appears* from the scant evidence available so far that he used lethal force unjustifiably, but I won't make that decision for myself one way or another until more facts come out. Did the fact that she & others had on backpacks which did not go through security checkpoints weigh in here?)

The vid starts with 4 armed and helmeted cops (long guns) climbing up stairs from below. Then you see the arms of the guy using the heavy stand trying to smash all the way thru the left window, likely the same way the right window was previously completely removed. Note that the shooter is maybe 2 feet behind and to the left of the window being hammered with growing cracks in it.

There appear to be maybe 3 other security officers already near the door, who are not helmeted, nor carrying weapons in their hands. As they talk to a guy against the wall on the right with a lanyard/badge who is apparently in some position of authority, the 4 armed ones arrive as the battering ram wielders (not coincidentally) quickly pull it back and away. Note that the 3 security guys already present are standing in front of the removed right window, so nobody can go through it while they're there. Also, the 4 newly-arrived LEO's stay standing on the top-most stairs, apparently because of the crowded conditions.

But then there are a few words passed between the lanyard guy and the newly-arrived 4 cops plus the 3 cops already with him, while loud banging is heard (palms striking glass and polished wood?) in addition to a loud incoherent babble of voices. Apparently the 4 newly-arrived LEOs with long guns & helmets are the "big gun reinforcements" there to replace the 3 lightly armed or unarmed security guys. And this Changing Of The Guard is now bungled by leaving the breach-point unguarded for 13 seconds (0:28-0:41, 2nd video).

You can see that the hallway is so packed full of people that there's no way the 3 original guards can stay where they are while the 4 new guards move up to take over their position. Instead, the 3 original guards hug the right wall in single file as they make their way out. The 4 new LEOs are still standing on the top few steps with their vision of the breached window blocked from view, and appear to be backing down the stairs to move from a 2-by-2 to a single-file in order to clear a path on the stairway for the 3 departing guys, while the foursome's leader on the top step confers with Lanyard Guy.

At around 28sec, the final member of the threesome leaves his post closest to the window, and a masked, hooded male takes his place. He looks through the window at a steep angle to the left, so he's likely looking right at the shooter who would be looking right at him. If he had been contemplating a jump thru the window, he isn't now, even though he's pretty small and could fit right through.

Also at 28sec, Lanyard Guy turns to look at the now unguarded window. He turns to look at least twice between :28 and :33, but then focuses his attention on the foursome's leader who's still on the top step. There is then more jostling around the windows and doors as protestors move in & out & sideways for a looksee.

That's the moment Ashli made her fatal decision, at time 0:41.

So for 13 seconds, from 0:28 to 0:41, there are no security people at the breached window while in the midst of their bungled hand-off to the new, more heavily-armed team.
And for 8 of those seconds, from 0:33 to 0:41, the only person in authority who is not on the stairs and therefore could possibly have a view of the window - Lanyard Guy - is facing away.

So not only are there no officers standing next to the empty window, but there are also none facing in its direction for those 8 seconds.

Two major mistakes at once.

I'm guessing the plainclothes guys on the inside of the House Chamber all pointing their guns at the door were the last line of defense, the shooter stationed outside the chamber door pointing his gun at the hallway door flanked by windows was the 2nd-to-the-last line, and the 3 security guys + Lanyard Man guarding the breached window on the inside of that same door were the 3rd-to-last.

So the shooter had been standing there for some time, while he depended on the 3rd-to-last line to keep anyone from coming thru the door or windows. He likely had no way to talk with them due to different services using different frequencies that would require special patch-throughs (eg Secret Service vs Capitol Police), plus the loud din preventing direct hearing of each other even a short distance away. So he probably was wondering WTF? when protestors started looking through the breached window that had been guarded up to then. As far as he knew, there had been a major security breakdown behind the hall door.

What a tragedy for Ashli and her loved ones.

Note that the shooter in the suit takes the shot even though armed uniformed LEOs with carbines are clearly swarming towards the door less than 10 feet from the shooter.

Thanks for posting the link...urge all to copy the video and post it far and wide.
