Looks like Portland won’t have to defund the police department as there soon won’t be a police department.

In one horrifying story, neighbors had to band together to track a stalker/peeping Tom that had been sneaking into little girls’ rooms at night. Police didn’t have the resources or manpower to respond. Portland police could only spare one detective to handle all robbery cases during the summer-int0-fall riots. The neighbors eventually ID’ed the perp and he was arrested. The suspect in that case, Brandon Pirkey, was currently on release facing charges in other case. Predictably, Multnomah County Sheriff Mike Reese let him go again.

Neither do they have the fortitude to protect their own kids.

This is what the democrats want. After all the good cops have gone to decent towns (without democrats) they will hire the ones they want who will allow criminals to steal, rape and kill.

Hopefully they learned their lesson. Next time they track this guy down, and you know there will almost certainly be a next time... They shouldn’t call the police, they should handle things “local” and in a manner such as to ensure there will be no recidivism.

They should have handled the problem instead of relying on Big Daddy.

Multnomah County Sheriff Mike Reese became an unwitting star of Tuesday night’s presidential debate, when President Donald Trump incoherently asserted that the “Portland sheriff” had endorsed his reelection bid. Reese within minutes took to social media and debunked the president’s claim. “I have never supported Donald Trump and I will never support him,” he wrote. In fact Reese had already made a contribution to a presidential campaign. On July 6, he donated $500 to Democratic Party nominee Joe Biden.
Today, he doubled down on that contribution, giving the Biden campaign another $500.

Hopefully the FD’s response to those is just to keep the fire from spreading beyond the tents.
