Democrat Tulsi Gabbard is making news on two fronts, introducing a ‘born alive’ amendment that protects infants who survive abortion, and bringing forth legislation that would prevent biological males from competing in women’s sports.
Gabbard, a former candidate for President, is sure to ruffle some feathers within her own party on both matters.
Her first effort regarding infants would amend U.S. criminal code “to ensure a health care practitioner exercises the proper degree of care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or attempted abortion.”
It seems like common sense to administer medical care to a child in need, but six Democrats running for President, among others, actually voted against a similar measure in 2019.
President Trump excoriated those who opposed it at the time.
“Senate Democrats just voted against legislation to prevent the killing of newborn infant children. The Democrat position on abortion is now so extreme that they don’t mind executing babies AFTER birth,” he tweeted.
“This will be remembered as one of the most shocking votes in the history of Congress. If there is one thing we should all agree on, it’s protecting the lives of innocent babies,” the President continued.

Also putting her firmly on the side of the President and his Republican Party, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI) introduced a bill to Congress which would force Title IX to be applied based on whether a person’s assigned female at birth.
In other words, stop taking opportunities away from female athletes by allowing biological males to compete in their sports or on their level.

She’s also positioning herself as the conservative, sane Democrat even as the crazy Social Justice Jihadis take over.
Tulsi’s father is a conservative politician with some diverging views and she once worked closely with him. She then veered off to the left but seeing what is going one maybe this is the start of a course correction.
Reagan didn’t quit the democrat party until age 51.
TULSI wants to save a baby who manages to escape the late term abortion that she approves of, and you believe she is conservative???

Between this and her recent views and suggestion on repealing Section 230, I’m thinking we have a new leader of the Democrat party that could save it from its far leftist takeover. Or, I’d love to see her just switch parties.
I have to disagree with anything positive that can be said about her. She is a Democrat, and that makes her an anti-American and a snake.
She was onboard with everything that went down the last four years, the spying on Trump, the setup of Flynn, the lying to the FISA courts, the impeachment...
She does not have the luxury and excuse of ignorance of the facts. She knows what is going on, and she sides with them.
Finding common ground with evil only does one thing: legitimizes evil. I wouldn’t trust her further than I could throw her.
I agree. Every DEMOCRAT, including TULSI is damaged goods. Their despicable voting record, especially against PRESIDENT TRUMP, shows they have no scruples. They are finished politically.
Imo, the real issue is that no one, and I mean no one, is allowed any real power or federal elected position by the dems unless they’ve passed all the loyalty tests.
She’s running a long game and it isn’t for the country or her constituents.

I just have the very strong impression that these things are completely and totally calculated for just that purpose and I can’t find a way personally to buy into it.
They are, and have been for some time, finished politically with me personally.
I think the last Democrat who had even a spark of sanity and normalcy was Zell Miller, and when he left...he turned out the lights over there.
Now, I see them all as variants of Maxine Waters, Chuck Schumer, AOC, Ilhan Omar, Elizabeth Warren, Nadler, and the list goes on.
THOSE people are the Democrat party.

It’s more full circle than metamorphasis, she grew up in a conservative family, and I think started her career with her father.
In a sense, she’d be completing the realignment of American politics that President Trump began, from the demokkkrat side.
An old type demokkkrat that regularly got supermajorities of the Catholic vote. Echoing, in many ways, what President Trump has done with the Republicans.
I feel much the same way. She’d have to move MUCH further to the right to get my vote.
But, she may be a bit of a pathfinder for enterprising demokkkrats who notice that President Trump is now the leader of the working class, and attracted a clear majority of the Catholic vote.
And where she has timidly stepped toward political sanity, others might decide to step much more boldly.
I found it odd how little support she had for D nomination this go around. She’s positioning for the long game.

I’d sleep a lot better if it was Biden / Gabbard instead of Biden / Harris.
I respect Ron Wyden (D-OR). I do not agree with all his liberal positions though.
