If the hand counts equal the machine counts, you need to focus on the ballots, not the machine.

Not really. Without a signature check, the number of ballots is an illusion. There are witnesses saying there were crates of pristine ballots with a perfect oval mark. It is easy to manufacturer ballots after the fact to match the machines.

It has never been the number of votes you get, but who counts the votes that matter.
