Georgia on Our Minds

While seeking Georgia’s 6th Congressional Seat in a 2017 special election, Jon Ossoff harped on one objective: restrain President Trump. The message failed then, and it will seem fatuous without a President Trump to restrain. That hasn’t stopped Ossoff from recycling the theme for his current Senate campaign against Republican Sen. David Perdue, which will be decided in a January 5 runoff along with the reelection bid of Georgia’s other GOP Sen. Kelly Loeffler. The practical effect of the Peach State electing Ossoff, or Loeffler’s opponent Raphael Warnock, will be, in the likeliest circumstances, to empower Joe Biden. Electing both Democrats would wrest the Senate from Republican control.

While the Democrats can probably forget some of their battier ideas, like Supreme Court-expansion, for at least the near term, a flipped Senate does make prospects of severe tax increases, unsound climate-change legislation, and hellish COVID-19 policy more realistic.

Biden, and those around him, have already made clear they can and will do great harm even without a pliant Congress. He has pledged to sign a litany of anti-warming executive orders on his first day in office. Meanwhile, two of his coronavirus advisers, Ezekiel Emanuel and Michael Osterholm, are urging him to hammer vulnerable working Americans and their children with another lockdown lasting at least a month. Without control of the Senate, Republicans will be unable to provide even modest legislative resistance on behalf of Americans seeking to earn a living and not have it exorbitantly taxed away, and seeking to live in peace and safety.

Ossoff has been plain that he wants to institute “criminal justice reforms” that will frustrate that last aspiration. If he has his way, the death penalty and cash bail will both go away. His economic vision meanwhile includes the full gamut of intensified COVID-19 countermeasures, higher taxes, and boondoggle alternative-energy subsidies. His financial support substantially derives, as in 2017, from left-wing institutions far away from his home state. Among his largest contributors are employees of the University of California, the city of New York, Amazon.com, and Facebook Inc. Interest groups with expressly liberal missions have contributed nearly $3 million to his campaign this year. Lawyers and law firms have given him almost $1.4 million and Hollywood institutions have given him over $400,000.

Warnock’s own far-left politics suit him at least as poorly to Georgia’s moderate electorate. While espousing all of the fringe causes Ossoff does, Warnock has gained a reputation as loose cannon. A Baptist minister, he was party to the invitation of Cuban tyrant Fidel Castro to deliver a rabidly anti-American oration at the Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, where Warnock worked in the 1990s.

Warnock has moreover defended Barack Obama’s former pastor Jeremiah Wright as speaking “the truth” when the latter declared in a sermon, “God damn America.” Wright has also gained notoriety for conspiracy-theory-mongering and anti-Semitism, having blamed “the Jews” for disallowing him to communicate with Obama after the 2008 presidential election. Reporting by National Review’s Zachary Evans has also revealed laudatory remarks Warnock has made about the late Dr. James Hal Cone, a theologian who referred to white Christians as “satanic” and called on parishioners to welcome “the destruction of everything white.”

Given how unattractive Ossoff and Warnock would seem from the vantage point of the average Georgia voter, and without the hurrahs of a presidential contest on the ballot, they shouldn’t expect to fare better than they did on November 3. But Republicans have to admit that Georgia’s becoming a purple state for the first time since the early 1990s spells big danger. Even if Ossoff and Warnock are beaten in January, candidates of their stripe will likely become more competitive in a few short years. And they’ve gained some nontraditional allies. Members of the Lincoln Project, which has billed itself as an anti-Trump conservative outfit—who now have no way to regain stature in Republican circles—have turned much of their attention to defeating Perdue and Loeffler. Count on this: win or lose, they won’t go away.

What’s at stake in Georgia’s January runoff is momentous indeed.

BIDEN AND OSSOFF PERFECT TOGETHER Ossoff attracted controversy regarding financial compensation
he received from PCCW Media, a company which has supported the Chinese Communist Party. (wiki)

Democrat Senate candidate Jon Ossoff, a retread....lost his first stab at election.

Back then, one of the Congressional Black Caucus brainiacs said Ossoff was “another JFK.”

Ossoff went all-in even though he’s not Irish (he’s Jewish)-——
<><> he began playing touch football with his cousins,
<><> kept saying he lived in a “compound,” and,
<><> said he loved ocean-sailing (didnt notice he was land-locked in his hometown?).
<><> Ossoff ordered Boston Clam Chowder in a Georgia Tearoom while every decent Southerner was eating Georgia Peach Cobbler.

Georgia Democrat Senate Candidate Jon Ossoff Quietly Discloses Financial Ties to Pro-Chinese Communist Media Company
National Review ^ | September 18, 2020 | TOBIAS HOONHOUT / FR Posted by bitt

Georgia Democrat and Senate candidate Jon Ossoff has been compensated by a Hong Kong media conglomerate whose owner has spoken out against pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong, according to his most recent financial disclosure.

Ossoff, whose role as CEO of a London-based producer of investigative documentaries has drawn scrutiny over the years, reported in an amended financial statement that he has received at least $5,000 from PCCW Media Limited over the last two years — a detail that has previously gone unreported. Ossoff did not disclose his ties to PCCW in his initial financial report, which he filed in May.

PCCW, the largest telecom agency in Hong Kong, is run by Chairman Richard Li, son of Hong Kong’s richest man, Li Ka-shing. Li also serves as a councilor for the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington, D.C., think tank. But for years, Li has spoken out against Hong Kong independence and the pro-democracy protests that have rocked the island as the Chinese Communist Party has consolidated control.

An Ossoff campaign spokesperson told National Review that the payments stemmed from the airing of “two investigations produced by Jon’s company of ISIS war crimes against women and girls,” representing “one of dozens of TV stations and distributors in more than 30 countries that have aired Jon’s work.”

“Jon strongly supports Hong Kong’s pro-democracy movement and condemns the brutality and authoritarianism of the Chinese Communist Party,” the spokesperson added, after a National Review analysis of Ossoff’s public comments showed that the candidate has been silent on the situation in Hong Kong.

Ossoff’s campaign declined to comment on whether he condemns Li’s opposition to the island’s pro-democracy movement. (Excerpt) Read more at nationalreview.com ...

This morning on Red Eye Radio, the guys were talking about a poll of 1500 in the GA. senate race indicated the GOP was up by 1% in both races. Nobody believes polls, but the scum RATS are doing all in their thievery manner to take these races.

At this point, not a d**n thing. Stacey Abrams has already bragged that 600,000 mail in ballots have been requested. The stage is set for the same fraudulent activity that happened on the morning of November 4. Those mail-in ballots will provide the appropriate cover for Dominion to work its magic.

The stupid Republican Governor and Secretary of State do not see what is about to happen.

At least the two Republican Senate Candidates have both asked the Secretary of State to step down. I think they can see what is about to happen.

It doesn’t matter what the polls say it matters how the Dominion machines vote.
