A conservative exodus to Parler from liberal Big Tech platforms has taken place since the chaotic election. The rising social media platform had skyrocketed to become the top app on the App Store.
The reason? Parler CEO John Matze said its because people have finally had it with Big Techs Orwellian infringement on freedom of speech.

He needs to be VERY careful. Parler.com is hosted on Amazon Web Services, Amazon’s cloud. It would be trivial for them to interrupt Parler if they were in the business of breach of contract.

Great the great migration is on. I spent one hour trying figure out how to use it. Not that easy
Yes, it’s extremely hard to initiate an account with Parler.
Why not make it more user friendly and simple ?
he should tell twitter something like ‘please continue being complete dubs- we appreciate the business’
He must go to his own private servers hosting it, with powerful storage, bandwidth and backup.
Then I think it’s only DNS service to be f’d with by the enemy.
All tech sur ives at the largesse of Google, Apple, Amazon and the rest of the w3c cabal... they need to be broken up
Private hosting is very expensive compared to cloud. Cloud offers scale that just isn’t possible in a private datacenter without a substantial amount of capital. Parler is too new. Of all of the cloud platforms, Amazon and Google wouldn’t have been my first choice, but Amazon is the best known by most technical resources and developers.
Yup. I tried. It wanted my cell phone number.

Take another look. If I'm not mistaken there is a "Skip" button just below the phone number space that lets you bypass the requirement to fill in your phone number.
I've had an account for some time, but just starting to use it regularly. Logged in a little while ago and the "Skip" button was there. Then a "Capcha" step to prove you are human. Then you're in.
Yup. I tried. It wanted my cell phone number.

They do that to prevent spam accounts being created and they use the phone number for answer-back verification when you create the account. So it’s actually a good thing.
That worked. Thanks!
Yeah, I was able to set up an account but I dont have a clue how to use it.
I opened a Parler account on my laptop. I tried to access Parler from my iPhone and it won’t let me sign in. Is there a trick to this?
I don’t want to register seeing they require your cell phone, just to be able to read the site like I can on most all other such sites.
Parler is having a lot of technical issues and I am using it less now although I am still glad I set it up.
On my feed (you will subscribe to different users) the same posting shows up multiple times in a row. The software is slow and glitchy although I know they are working to fix it and streamline it. It is really bad lately. I will see the identical thread multiple times. It makes it hard to read responses.
They have some great content posted. One thing that will help you is that after you subscribe to the people you are interested in make sure you turn off echoes because many people on your list will essentially echo the same thing that is already on your feed.
They will get there, but they have a long way to go in making it user friendly and it seems to make my computer stall and get stuck frequently so I close the tab after I look.
There are also a lot of drive-by posts that get irritating. Bongino (who I like) posts the same thing everyday like clockwork. Some people I follow use it like twitter or they echo their twitter postings (like Buck Sexton who I really like) but others just post drivel. I have been trying to change my subscribed follows to minimize this, but any success I have had has been erased in the past week because the same damn thread shows up multiple times. Imagine FR if I posted an article 4 times in a row and no admin moderator came in to erase three of them or lock them so you had different people responding on different threads.
Frankly I like the FR format much better and the comments here (as drive-by posting as many are) are far more interesting and you can actually have a discussion. I will say that Parler has a lot of great articles posted that I never see here on FR (shoot me, I am too lazy to post them).
AWS isn’t going to risk getting future USG contracts. They pull something like that, they’ll be done.
