In 2000, Al Gore put the country through a 37-day recount process in which he urged the courts to permit recounts only in the places where he thought he find additional votes for him. If you doubt that, read the book his lawyer, David Boies, wrote about it. https://t.co/KLvmQ89KqP— Brit Hume (@brithume) November 6, 2020

The Dem-media does not want a concession and peaceful transfer of power.
They have a fantasy of Trump refusing and having to be hauled out of the WH, kicking, screaming and clawing onto the doorway.
They are looking for humiliation above all else.

The courts may not matter.

You may want to take a look at Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution and the Election of 1876.

Republicans control this process—regardless of what the courts do.

Resist. Overturn. Boycott. Surveil. Leak. Impeach. And now they tell us it’s time to heal. Where were they for the last four years?— Ari Fleischer (@AriFleischer) November 8, 2020

He forget to add murder. Assault. Spit on. Called racist, nazi.
F##k healing.

It was this specific occasion that caused me to join FR.

Sure.

Article 2 Section 1 of the Constitution states that _state_ _legislatures_ determine the electors for their state.

They have _total_ discretion.

Republicans currently control both chambers of the state legislatures in WI, MI, PA, GA, AZ and the Democrats control NV.

If the Republican legislatures choose Republican electors then it will be Republican electors who are presented to Congress.

Congress then can vote for the electors (again in the Constitution) with _one_ _vote_ per _state_.

Republicans control more than half of the total state delegations in Congress.

This process had one stress test in American history—the election of 1876.

In 1876 three states sent two different electoral slates to Congress—and Congress chose the Republican slates and made Rutherford B. Hayes the President.

Another similarity to the election of 1876 and this one was alleged “massive voter turnout”. 1876 is shown in the history books as the largest voter turnout ever. The reason—just like in 2020—massive voter fraud.

Everybody knew it in 1876—there was no fair way to determine what really happened—so the parties in the legislatures and the Congress voted along party lines—and that was that.

In 2016 the democrats put the country through HELL as one state after the other challenged the results, middle of January 2017 before all the challenges were resolved and President Trump could be sworn in on Jan 20th.
Joe, you got a long time to wait, so pretend you are president for a while, reality will hit you in the a$$ before much longer.

Trump’s attorneys should demand the same length of time. Demand that Biden backtrack on his declarations and start the clock then.

“He’s also a billionaire and has other things he can do.”

You seriously believe that they will permit him to do “other things”? He’ll be lucky if he and his family aren’t dealt with the way dictators deal with enemies. Watch the last 15 minutes of “Nicholas and Alexandra”.

Oh, well very cool.

I’m familiar with the constitutional aspects, just can’t cite chapter and verse.

Had no idea about this being the solution to a rigged election in 1876.

Very cool indeed.

Let’s rodeo, you bitches.

And when it was all over, after six months of extreme 2000 year political Rhetoric, CALM! We thought.

Sitting in a Dr’s office with the TV on FOX, they came on with a new news program...A complete rundown of the 2000 Election!

I wanted to throw a boot at the screen.
