This is an interesting analysis. I am confused by the scenario where it is a 269-269 tie and goes to the House. The article says Trump wins in the House of Representatives but why? The Dems hold the House and likely will keep their majority. How does Trump overcome that?
The house only gets 1 vote per state delegation, and the Rs control more of those then the Ds
Delegations vote by state , i.e. only 50 votes in the House President in a tie. Repubs hold more state delegations.
In the House each state only gets 1 vote. So the delegation from California meets and they decide who to vote for. The lone rep from Idaho gets 1 vote as well. In this scenario there are more GOP dominate states.
1 state 1 vote.
Special rules. Each state delegation gets one vote, no matter how many representatives they have. There are more R dominated states than D dominated.
The vote in the House for President is one state, one vote, and I believe that that one vote is a reflection of the states legislative majority. There are more red legislatures than blue legislatures.
