I would argue that Day O'Connor was better than Anthony Kennedy. (But not by much)

And now we have two Anthony Kennedyites on the court. (Gorsuch, Kavanaugh), so at the end of the day Day O'Connor will probably be better than those two.

Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, are not Constitutional Conservatives, they should be on the other list, if there are only two lists. And Roberts is still to the right of both of them. On big decisions, he tends to go with the left, but on the majority he still goes right.

If Roe was ever to be brought before the Supreme Court again, Roberts may or may not vote to overturn Roe. Gorsuch and Kavanaugh never will.

I worry about gorsuch in particular since he’s uber focused on gay rights. jury’s out in my mind on kavanaugh but I don’t see him as a true conservative unfortunately.

I totally agree with you. Roberts is a Mitt Romney Justice. And more than anything he is NOT going to defer to Justice Thomas writing the winning decisions, while he is relegated to dissenting opinion writings. He wants the spotlight on himself, just like Romney. And he’s not ABOUT to give the spotlight to another

As I said, I hope so, but I have doubts. I think it was mainly a political move by Trump to pick her rather than a guy with similar originalist credentials.

I’ll hope for the best.

But really, Lazamataz, tell me how you picture her and her family being publicly crucified and humiliated before she votes to overturn Roe v. Wade. I loved Palin but she couldn’t handle it - not when it came to her family.

I’ll say this - what Trump has endured, I don’t believe any woman could have withstood. That is not a knock on a woman’s value just the fact women are simply not made to be as strong as men. What’s the matter with people? Dang we’re living in a weird time. 50 years ago nobody would have argued with that.

Nevertheless, I’ll probably get whacked again. Can’t help it. I don’t see anything wrong with what I’m saying. I feel like there’s a lot of people that actually feel this way but are afraid to say it because of this kind of crazed overreaction. And I think it’s important to say these things.

Betrayal by justices we thought were going to be conservative has a long track record and its mostly male - Anthony Kennedy, David Souter, John Roberts vs. Sandra Day O'Connor as the only female who has betrayed conservatives.

Let's see what happens - male or female, I've been conditioned by experience to expect the worst from so-called "conservative" SC justices.
