It would be good to compare this years COVID hospitalizations to other other maladies in the non-COVID years but such data is not available. Also, the reported top common causes of death in Ohio are three years behind.

As far as the 78% of fatalities but only 40% of hospitalizations for those over age 70, how many died in a nursing home or hospice instead of a hospital? What matters is total deaths and total hospitalizations and comparison back several years. For example, what is the Flu death/flu related death rate this season?

I don’t think you need to have prior years’ data, though it’d be good. The question is simple - “Governor, you say you are worried about the case surges. But the surge is with youths who do not burden our healthcare system less and die less often than our elderly. Why are you proposing a focus away from our elderly, a focus akin to that of Gov Cuomo that lead to NY being a punchline AND the leader in elderly fatalities?”
