The Commission on Presidential Debates is at it again, making another last minute rule change to protect Joe Biden from being bested on stage by President Trump. This time the commission announced that each candidate’s microphone will be muted while the other responds for two minutes to a question by moderator Kristen Welker of NBC News at Thursday’s third scheduled debate in Nashville. During open discussion, Welker will be able to give a candidate more time to speak to make up for being interrupted.
The debate commission changed the rules for the second debate from an in-person townhall in Miami to a remote town hall after Trump came down with the COVID-19 Chinese coronavirus. Trump rejected the change, prompting the cancellation of the debate. Biden and a recovered and non-infectious Trump held dueling solo town halls last Thursday, the night planned for the second debate.

Nobody can say its not fair, because its exactly the same. Moderator can't favor the Left (or the Right if that would ever happen) because there is no moderator.
Trump would eat Biden alive, for he would have no moderator to protect him from really having to answer for his B.S. in front of everybody.
Changing the rules to make sure that Trump is screwed.

Yep, more outrageous was the last minute change of topics. Was supposed to be Foreign Policy but now will be global warming, race relations and covid. I might not bother to watch.
Unfortunately it’s not going to be that way. Whomever on the Trump campaign who is advising him to do this with a hostile Obama surrogate needs to be fired.
I don’t really have a problem with this. Recall that it was Biden who started interrupting first in the last debate. They should take it a step further and also cut the mic of the “moderator” during the two minutes.
Trump should just ignore the questions and make whatever points he wants.
And when the third debater, uh, moderator complains he should retort “I have two minutes to answer. If you have a problem with the substance of my answer, too bad. I am being graded by the American public, not by you.”
I say, let Joe talk, it will be better for our side.

I concur. Trump should tell the debate commission no debate, Either go back to the original topic, remove the mute or no debate. Too late to change minds at this point. Anyone calling themselves undecided at this stage are either stupid or liars. The debate is a waste of time.

Agreed. I’m no MD but he appeared to be jacked up on a combination of Aricept, Adderall and Mountain Dew.

That part is ok, but Biden will just lie - its what he always does - and when President Trump tries to call him on the lies, the Moderator will cut the President's mike. And when the President tries to bring up the Ukrainian/China bribery (or anything else related to the laptop) scandal the Moderator will cut off the mike - since the President's comments aren't pertaining to the Moderator's questions.
It still could work though. The President has always done well when going into the Lion's Den - and gross malfeasance (putting the thumb on the scale) by the Moderator will be pretty obvious to the viewing public.
President Trump should not attend.
He should say they are breaking their own rules to help Biden.
Typical Democrat M.O. They change the rules when the ones that are in place, don’t suit their needs. Then down the road, when the rule they just changed, comes back to bite them in the ass, they claim the rule is unfair, and want to change it again.
All Trump needs to do is just utter 2 words the entire debate. “Hunter laptop.”
