FBI is probably trying to put together a plan for obstruction of justice by Rudy, since this is interfering with their “ongoing investigations”. Rudy is a much bigger target by the FBI and SDNY for exposing this than anything a Biden may have done. Biden’s are home free as far as the feds are concerned.

Good question. The FBI has done many questionable things, such as those involving the Boston Marathon Bombers and giving the widow a pass, etc.

There’s a lot wrong with this and if it goes to court (which it won’t) and they try to use the laptop as evidence (which they won’t) it’ll get thrown out for having a crap custody tree.
The other sources CAN be useful IF they didn’t use the laptop as a reason to get them. If they did, it’s fruit from a poison tree and would be thrown out (again if it went to court, which it won’t).

And investigative purposes should be more valid applied to Biden - who lives high on the hog considering his legit income - than for Trump who never had remotely the motive that Biden did. Nor the proven opportunity.
Like Mueller, Joe would have no difficulty at this date selling the idea that he’s no longer mentally responsible.
But at least it also means he’s in no conceivable way POTUS material.
