Stevie Nicks: There’d Be No Fleetwood Mac ‘If I Had Not Had That Abortion’
Breitbart ^ | 10/15/20 | Alana Mastrangelo

After telling Variety that she’s contemplating leaving the United States if President Donald Trump wins re-election, rocker Stevie Nicks says there wouldn’t have been a Fleetwood Mac if she had not had an abortion.

“If I had not had that abortion, I’m pretty sure there would have been no Fleetwood Mac,” said Nick in a recent interview with The Guardian. The singer ended her unborn child’s life in 1979 while she was dating Don Henley of The Eagles. “There’s just no way that I could have had a child then, working as hard as we worked constantly. And there were a lot of drugs, I was doing a lot of drugs — I would have had to walk away.”

Besides, Nicks felt that “the music we were going to bring to the world” was much more important than the life of her own flesh and blood.

“And I knew that the music we were going to bring to the world was going to heal so many people’s hearts and make people so happy,” she said. “And I thought: you know what? That’s really important. There’s not another band in the world that has two lead women singers, two lead women writers. That was my world’s mission.”

The rocker jumped into the presidential election last week, telling Variety in an interview to promote her new single “Show Them the Way” that she’s “thinking: Oh, space” if Trump wins. “Maybe I can talk Elon Musk into giving us a jet and letting me pick 50 people.” Nicks is not the only celebrity elite to suggest that she wouldn’t have been able to figure out how to be successful in her career if she had started a family.

It doesn’t make any sense. Fleetwood Mac had already had their two most successful albums.
.
.
Right! She is not making any sense. She was on her way to a solo career when she got pregnant with Henley’s kid.
The reality is she didn’t have it because she was a hard core cocaine addict and didn’t want to give up the drug for pregnancy.
Wasn’t about FWM.

I’ve been watching live local bands for years and lots of of them had female singers who were pregnant... It truly doesn’t hurt your singing voice.

Fleetwood Mac already existed before she joined.

Sad. I’ll never listen to that murderess’ music, ever again. She needs to repent, but that seems unlikely.

That infant might have been greater and contributed much to humanity. That child’s line of descendants could have produced healers, scientists, peacemakers, judges, artists far greater than a fleeting pop group whose songs have faded through the years.

Devil: "Kill your baby, and I will make you wildly famous and popular. Your music will heal so many people."
Nicks: "Take the baby, make me famous!!"

Yeah, walking away from cocaine is never a bad idea.

How does she know that kid wouldn’t have been a rock star??

She might as well say, “Gosh. It’
s great the Nazi murdered all those Jews in WWII cause we ended up with rocketry and went to the moon using German scientists because of it.”

I’m certainly not making any excuses for murder the way she does.

As for rock and roll (or pop music for that matter) every so often I hear someone repeat the notion that Christian music efforts are bad and while I suppose I could sarcastically say “yeah, there’s really nothing better to sing about than screwing, smoking and snorting your way through life” what I should really say is that they are expressing unrealistic expectations of what “Christian rock” should be or else it’s no good because they are neglecting the fact that most rock music isn’t all that too.

They certainly don’t require all secular rock music to be astonishingly good or else they dismiss it as a genre.

The sexual revolution elevated what people did with their genitals to be the end all and be all of the pursuit of happiness so whatever someone does to make them “be happy” and have more sex without consequences is untouchable.

We simply live is a world where freedom is something for below the waist ... why the same people who lust to regulate every nuance of life besides sex will call you a fascist for suggesting they have better morals.

One of the best ever “South Park” scenes was when the kids had a goat they thought came from their “sister city” in Afghanistan. Somehow, they got on a transport to Afghanistan, led the goat off the ramp from the plane. A bunch of airmen were watching.

When the goat bleated they all yelled “STEVIE NICKS!”

Yes.

Barbara Streisand was a giant Godzilla monster ... Stevie Nicks was a goat.

Actually, the group would have done just fine — in fact it was better before the Buckingham/Nicks songwriting pap took over, though it wasn’t nearly as “commercial” — if your mother had had an abortion, Stevie.

Yup. Fleetsood Mac would have been fine without Nicks but her baby wasn’t. it’s about her narcissism in both instances
