I read that J Lennon was a registered Republican...was that true?
All I know is that he did meet Ronald Reagan once, during a Monday Night Football game, as both were set to be interviewed, although not together.
The story is that Cosell saw Reagan talking the rules of football to John. I could see that may have made an impression on John.
Ronald Reagan met him in 1974 on Monday Night Football. Supposedly they got on quite well, Ron explaining the NFL game to John like a dad would.
I don’t think he was as he was still a British citizen at the end of his life I assume. I could be wrong.
BUT I do know for a fact that the Netflix video “My Beatles Story” at the end features an interview with his butler who said one day he came in and said: “If I were American I’d definitely vote for Ronald Reagan over Jimmy Carter...”
He also said he was somewhat embarrassed by his earlier works like “Imagine”.
I don’t know if he was registered by his former assistant said he supported Reagan over Carter.......

Lennon was not eligible to apply for US citizenship until 1981. He was killed in 1980.
