BUT I do know for a fact that the Netflix video “My Beatles Story” at the end features an interview with his butler who said one day he came in and said: “If I were American I’d definitely vote for Ronald Reagan over Jimmy Carter...”
He also said he was somewhat embarrassed by his earlier works like “Imagine”.

Would that work if he did not get US citizenship?
