AOC: "I looked at this recipe and I needed basil, and I was going home and I get off the subway station and I go into the grocery store and theres no basil, no fresh basil in the grocery store. So then I walked to another grocery store two blocks down, no fresh basil. I was very stubborn about making this recipe that evening, and I mustve been I mustve walked around for an hour in our neighborhoods, visiting four or five grocery stores, and there was no basil, no fresh basil in any of them. And it just goes to show, its very its very illustrative of the difficulties that we have in our communities in accessing fresh produce."
Only a person totally lacking in self awareness would make a fuss about something so altogether trivial.
She could probably get it from Amazon if they had a fulfillment center in NY C....
Actually I wouldn’t mind seeing them swing around in a teddy as she fetched me a bourbon rocks.
Oh yeah...I can empathize with aoc....theres no fresh basil in my hometown either....and sob there are no Maine lobster swimming around in a tank at the Piggly Wiggly...oh the horrors...what a dumb privileged pos she is....did I say dumb...
What a stupid bitch!
Why doesn’t she grow fresh basil on her kitchen windowsill. like many NYC apartment dwellers do?
What if she’d needed arugula? (Reference to early out of touch Obama quote, “Have you seen the price of arugula lately?”)
Buy a grow light. I have fresh basil, green onions, garlic and cilantro growing in my cellar office. All the time.
If she is complaining about this where she lives in Washington DC, near the Washington National’s ball park I’m surprised. This area has been completely rebuilt from slums to high rise condos and massive gentrification. There is a Harris Teeter (5 years old) near her at the Navy Yard stop and a Safeway (built lest than 10 years ago) at the Waterfront/Southeast metro subway stop. I’m familiar with that area from working at the old Navy Yard 89-93 and then at Ft. McNair 1999-2007. I’m pretty sure 1 of those 2 supermarkets would have fresh basil. I’ve shopped many times at the Safeway, as it was an easy walk from Ft. McNair to go there to get something for lunch or stop in when I got off the metro enroute to McNair a quarter mile away.
Its because all your BLM and your ANTIFA buddies burned down the stores you ignorant slut!
The dumb bunny doesn’t realize these things are seasonal. I could get fresh basil and basil plants in EVERY grocery store back in June and July. Not so much now.
But they have these really cheap things called SEEDS.
... Wow. I have two huge basil plants, maybe three feet tall and 2-4 feet wide. Smaller one’s in a pot, so I know she could easily have her own big bush. It’s probably the first herb you should start growing!
Way above her skill level.
Best stuff.
When the U.N. runs the world, there will be BASIL FOR EVERYBODY. Sorry I yelled but I feel very strongly about this fundamental human right.
I live in the Northeast, and we (my husband and I) grew a plethora of basil this Summer. In gact, so much we couldn’t use it all, and had to let it go to seed. She just lacks real world skills, and expects everything to be available to her on demand.
See my post # 49, where she lives in DC has gone from mostly black to mostly white millenials.
Type in Ft. McNair, DC Map into a search engine and look at the stores in the area. Where I use to work at the west end of the Navy Yard, is now a park, next to Nationals ball park.
Was gonna say, isn’t Basil always fresh...or was that just Manuel triggering him?
She should have substituted arugula...but have you seen the price of arugula, lately?
