Agree.
Those were the days, my FRiend :-)
Today’s kids may not ever see those kinds of friendships.
Hubby says the pendulum will soon swing back. (We’re certainly close to the breaking point.)
Praying so.
Unfortunately, I agree with your husband only if Trump loses.
If he wins, it will get much worse.
Much.
Your hubby has a good head on his shoulders. History (and physics) teaches that a swing-back is inevitable. That's what pendulums DO.
What I'm not sure about -- and don't get me wrong. To me, pessimism is practically a mortal sin, and deserving of an ass-kicking. But I'm wondering if there's enough time left on the clock for that pendulum to swing back.
You know how tasks require a certain amount of time to complete? Even with "digging deep", "giving 110%", "making a supreme effort", and all that other psychobabble B.S., the task CANNOT be accomplished in less than the required time. Now say you're given a task requiring exactly one hour -- 60 minutes -- to complete. Now suppose there are only 59 minutes left on the clock. That's kind of the vibe I'm getting. America and her people can do ANYTHING. However, this time there may just not be sufficient time left on the clock.
