Lithgow plays a good, ‘Bad Guy.’ He eats up the scenery no matter what role he’s playing, though.

I love it when people that are usually ‘Good Guys’ have cameo roles on cop shows. Carol Burnett was the ‘Bad Girl’ murderer on one that I remember off top.
And don’t even get me started on the old ‘Columbo’ shows. Those were so fun, just for the eventual murderers, who were usually other popular TV Stars at the time. ;)
Lithgow showed up as a serial killer in a few episodes of the 8 season series DEXTER.
