Apparently 6 of our justices are catholic but I guess it’s a problem now.

Myself I’d like to see some Protestants. Maybe some affirmative action could help :)

Perhaps a Samoan Protestant justice with vitiligo or something, check off a few boxes.

If the Rats want to talk unconstitutional, it is blatantly unconstitutional to have a religious test for ANY government official.

No anti-Catholic bigotry when it comes to the Supreme Court. Only Catholics and Jews with Ivy League credentials need apply.

What isn’t allowed on the Supreme Court these days is a White Evangelical Male that isn’t a member of the ‘club’.

It’s not so much Barrett’s Catholicism that incenses them, it’s that she is serious about her religion. Many Catholics in the U.S. Congress are unfortunately not serious about the teachings of the Church. In fact they have contempt for the moral doctrine while giving them lip service. You can’t be pro-abortion and be a good Catholic.
Amy Coney Barrett actually walks the walk. That’s not acceptable to the intolerant left.

Some folks are leery of Catholics.
They might be ruled by the Vatican.

People argue for Judge Lagoa to help win Florida. You shouldn’t pick someone for a lifetime appointment based on such short-term political considerations.

But Barrett could help with Catholics and help hold the Midwestern Rust Belt states.

Attacks against Amy Coney Barrett on her religions faith will backfire on Joe Biden.

The MSM cannot praise Biden as a devout Catholic whose beliefs are "baked into the core functions of the campaign," and then try to attack and disqualify Judge Barrett over the same claims.

From just a few days ago...

September 20, 2020: NPR: How Joe Biden's Faith Shapes His Politics

When Joe Biden seeks to inspire or comfort, he turns to his faith. His speeches are woven with references to God, biblical language or the pope...

If elected, Biden would become only the second Catholic president in American history. It's not a detail he highlights, but people who know him well say his Catholic faith is central to how he sees the world...

Biden, who carries a rosary in his pocket and attends Mass every Sunday, is known as a deeply devout person of faith, and his campaign sees electoral implications in that — in part because Biden has tried to frame this election as a clear moral contrast between Trump and himself.

Some Democrats would go so far as to say that Biden is running perhaps the most overtly devout Democratic presidential campaign since Jimmy Carter in 1976.

From July 17, 2020: Associate Press via the New York Daily News - Biden’s bid touts faith, courts even religious conservatives:

President Donald Trump’s appeal to religious conservatives is a cornerstone of his political identity. But Joe Biden is a different kind of foe than Trump has faced before: one who makes faith a central part of his persona — often literally wearing it on his sleeve.

In fact, Biden's practice of carrying a rosary that belonged to his late son Beau caught the attention of one of his Democratic presidential rivals when the two were awaiting a debate last year...

Biden's identity as "a very devout Catholic and person of deep faith," deputy political director John McCarthy said, is "baked into the core messaging and core functions of the campaign."

Joey Biden is Catholic, Governors, Q-Mo, Newsom, Brown, and that one in New Mexico, and Nancy Pewlosie, Speaker of the House, is Catholic .... Pappy Francis is their big gun ... I look around at all the catholics in elected, appointed and in government, and there is such a thing as ‘anti-Catholic’... puff ... even that ‘woman’ who is in the mix for the supreme, claimed there is a difference in what she personally believes and judging ... double minded ..

There are two wings of Catholicism ... right and left ... More in government are communists who despise this nation, and doing whatever it takes to destroy US.

It’s anti religion, not just catholic. And primarily, anti Christian.

This same anti-Catholic bigotry was evident in her 2017 confirmation hearings. But we might be able to skip hearings citing the prior ones and just vote on her.
