For those who don't click through. I would have been proud to have him as a friend. I'm proud he was an American.

Terrorism terrorizes. What can one man do? Look it up. "Warning shots taken can demonstrate that you had time to retreat." I was not there. I do not know if he was defending another.

All I know is he was a businessman with more than one bar, was not a nutjob and obviously felt his or another's life was in danger in the middle of a riot -that's what the warning shots were for.

Then he must have felt he had no choice.

From the video it is clear that Mr. Gardner was a true gentleman and a genuinely nice individual. The prosecutor and judge in the case are themselves murderers and they have gravely wounded the reputation of their institution. No man should ever be placed in such an unjust situation by such corrupt public officials. A lesser man than Jake Gardner would have taken them with him. I fear that soon there won't be any men left with Mr. Gardner's grace and self-restraint.
