Normally Week 1 of NFL season is a red letter day for me. I get my yard work chores done early and then sit in front of TV for the entire afternoon and evening, taking in three games. One of the 1PM games, one of the 4PM games and the prime time game as well.

Instead, the wife and I are about an hour away from driving to Washington, CT for a nice hike in the woods in the Steep Rock Preserve by the Shepaug River. Then we will hit some farm stands on the way back for some fresh produce and will cook a nice dinner while prepping for the Trump rally in Las Vegas later tonight.

I'm not even going to check the scores. Because I don't care.

I’m in the same place. A few years back I stopped watching because of the Kaepernick controversy, but at that time mostly I was annoyed at the NFL. Eventually I started watching gain.

This year I’m not annoyed at all. I’m just totally uninterested.

Beautiful area. Spent many a great day in November on Lake Lilli myself chasing Crappies at the confluence of the Shepaug and Housy.
