No matter what and if he had on his system having someone kneel on your neck past the point of j responsive is a terrible plan and awful optic.

The arresting officer assumes responsibility for the safety of the detained.

That passers-by were pointing out to the police that Floyd was unresponsive is, shall we say, problematic for the police, whether he had drugs in his system, a pre-existing medical condition, or simply an exceptionally adverse reaction to being detained.

f he was dying, why did he need to be held down with a grown man’s knee compressing his throat against the ground?

So we can assume that you didn’t read the coroner’s report.

You know, the one that said that there was no bruising on his neck, no crushing of his trachea or larynx, no damage to his neck whatsoever.

Chauvin had his weight on his RIGHT knee with his left knee just hovering over Floyd’s neck. He was thrashing around and trying to get up, so this prevents him from rasing his head and sitting up.

“””I could agree with you but there is no point in both of us being incorrect”””

So true. You go ahead and believe what the media tells you and I will stick to the facts.

I know a guy who lives a block from the Saint Floyd memorial.
People down there know he died of a drug overdose and they are really tired of their area being a no go zone for the police.

Do you not understand?

If he did not resist arrest none of this would have happened.

That's an important find.
Fentanyl Buccal/Sublingual Tablets are intended to be disolved in the mouth - they are not meant to be digested whole. I wonder if he swallowed the tablet when he first encountered the police and I wonder what effect this may have had?

The drug starts to take effect within 15 minutes.

Here is just one quote from the UK Government NHS website:
If you take recreational drugs, such as cannabis, cocaine and heroin, while you're taking fentanyl, you're more likely to get the serious side effects. These include breathing difficulties, heart problems such as high blood pressure, seizure or fits and even going into a coma.
Taking heroin while you're on fentanyl is especially dangerous. You're more likely to get all the side effects of fentanyl.

https://www.nhs.uk/medicines/fentanyl
[The Free Morphine found in his blood (per the autospy report) is also commonly found as the result heroin use]

This is on top of what we all already know:
This medicine may cause very bad and sometimes deadly breathing problems...
The chance of very bad and sometimes deadly breathing problems may be greater when you first start fentanyl sublingual tablet or anytime your dose is raised.
Even one dose of fentanyl sublingual tablet may be deadly if it is taken by someone else or by accident...

https://www.drugs.com/cdi/fentanyl-sublingual-tablet.html

The drug also has a more profund effect (per Wikipedia) on the heart of patients who have high blood pressure or congestive heart failure (he had both).
The most dangerous adverse effect of fentanyl is respiratory depression, or the decreased ability to breathe

early in one of the videos, are three black yoots. One stands on the corner where Floyd ended up across the street. Two walk over to the car, one keeping a distance as a lookout as the third person leans on the passenger door and then just as quickly leaves, rejoining the other two men leaving together. Nobody seemed curious about this pre-event. There is also a video of a white packet or square that drops behind Floyd as he sits down against the wall of the store before being moved across the street. Haven’t heard any more about that, either.

Nope. You didn’t see what you think you saw.

Fine. Go sell that to millions of voters. I'm not the person you need to convince that the police aren't the enemy.

A clear case of overdose can’t blame that on a cop or racism or anything else, you got to deal with the facts not feelings.

If he did not resist arrest none of this would have happened.

Let's try that again, except positing that a drunk teenager broke curfew and fought with Dad when he came had me, and Dad wound up killing him by kneeling on his neck.

If the kid came home on time and stayed sober, none of this would have happened.

Would you then say the kid is guilty of his own death?

There are countless times a day when police officers arrest stoned, drunk, etc. perps who are out of their mind. I'm sure these perps are not in great health, either. Police should absolutely have leeway in kicking up their use of force in these cases. Indeed in those countless times a day the police do their job without the bad guy dying in the process - otherwise it'd be all over the news.

So, why did this cop have such a hard time delivering a live suspect? Maybe because he was a lousy cop?

It is mind-boggling that usually rational people can say, rightly, that the police should not be defunded and that rioting is a crime, but twist themselves into a pretzel to defend a bad LEO.

I did. I see the cause of death being “cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restrain, and neck compression.” Though it is stated elsewhere that he had "other significant conditions" including "arteriosclerotic and hypertensive heart disease; fentanyl intoxication; [and] recent methamphetamine use", those are not listed as the causes of death.

Because you're a vet, I'll give you the respect of a reply.

Per the autopsy, the cause of death was “cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restrain, and neck compression.” Maybe that's not enough to declare "killing" (more on that later), but he clearly didn't fall down the stairs, either. Though it is stated elsewhere in the autopsy that he had "other significant conditions" including "arteriosclerotic and hypertensive heart disease; fentanyl intoxication; [and] recent methamphetamine use", those are not listed as the causes of death.

If I was an officer of the court and we were in a courtroom I could see your way to holding my tongue on saying "killing."

But I'm not, and we are not.

Now, if you want to argue that mere citizens should stay mum in any fora before a trial is held, then logically you believe most of FR is out of line in laying any guilt at the feet of Hillary on Benghazi or her server. We should also hold fire (no pun intended) on the guilt of those rioters caught on film burning and looting.

Further, it would also hold logically that you'd argue that the planet was out of line when they said, collectively, "oh, he DEFINITELY killed them" when we saw this live:

Let me be clear: I would agree with the sentiment that George Floyd's death was used to justify the ensuing mayhem and destruction of public and private property. The First Amendment guarantee of the right to peaceably assemble must be preserved - it was used with great impact in Lansing MI during the lockdown. The animals who rioted and burned and looted....they are criminals.

But that does not mean I have to defend a cop who's incompetence cost a man his life. Indeed, true justice and fidelity to the truth DEMAND we call out this cop AND say that the rioters are not "peaceful protesters." Thanks for listening.
