Here we go again, the great debate over whether “cancel culture” is real. It is real, as I wrote in my op-ed at Real Clear Politics, Cancel Culture Is Real. The people claiming cancel culture is not a real thing, that it’s just a gripe of people who don’t like being criticized, almost always are those on the giving, not receiving, end — the people on campuses and in the culture who hold power in given institutions.

Anyone who thinks a discussion is going to happen is a damn fool. That is about lecturing the current politically correct narrative, and identifying anyone who dissents from it for termination.
Here is my cancel culture story:
I use my real name because I do not hide my opinions. If people search my name, they can find my employer.
I have been reported 4 times now and “investigated” for posting racist things or other drivel.
Last week, I called George Floyd a scumbag criminal drug user who caused his own death.
I am under investigation again.
I told my HR manager that when I post, I post as a citizen and my political speech is protected. I am not posting as a representative of the company.
But the cancel culture wants to destroy me. They cannot refute my online arguments, so they go after my job.
Corporations are scared to death.
We are spiraling downward.

If we lose in November, the downward spiral of this nation will accelerate. I am sorry for my children and subsequent generations who will never know freedom and capitalism.
And how many demerits for not volunteering?
Kudos to you for speaking out. I too fear for my children and their future. My family has been through this already, my parents having fled tyranny to start over in America. Your courage is seen by many who are afraid and have much to lose. I am finding complete strangers are more willing to speak one to one about their concerns. I assume they pick up on cues - hints in casual conversation, purchases in the grocery store, things left unsaid. Slowly the quiet law abiding citizens are connecting - even in blue states - or maybe especially in blue states. We feel the oppression from our political leadership right through our civic groups and churches.
Very sorry to hear that but believe it 100%. Which is the reason I am very careful to reveal myself. I could lose my job and so could my wife. I know the left stalks conservatives, tries to get them fired, or tries to shame them. My wife was quite angry with me a few months ago and made we cancel my Facebook account. The backstory is a group of us were sued by a nuisance lawyer for libel and lost. Personally I lost 20,000 in damages plus another 20,000 defending myself.
It’s not that I don’t trust Free Republic but you just don’t know who could be lurking here from the cancel culture.
I told my wife I can’t wait until retirement then I can say whatever the hell I want.
It’s all very 1984. The left doesn’t just want to stop what we do, they want to punish us for how we THINK.
My mother endured the cancel culture in NAZI Germany.
My father endured the cancel culture in Communist Hungary.
They came here for a better life.
I will NEVER back down or post political speech under a pseudonym! They can try to destroy me, but I will not back down. There is nowhere to run.
The “Great Reset” is underway. The only obstacle is Trump’s re-election. If Trump loses, we are doomed to global marxism within a short time.
Seems like new Americans from former Communist regimes make the best patriots.
