SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. Every day when I walk into work as a public-school teacher, I am prepared to take a bullet to save a child. In the age of school shootings, thats what the job requires. But asking me to return to the classroom amid a pandemic and expose myself and my family to Covid-19 is like asking me to take that bullet home to my own family.
I wont do it, and you shouldnt want me to.
(Read it all if you can stomach it)

BINGO! No workee, no payee.
wear a hazmat suit- you’ll be fine
Oh Please.
Meanwhile, Grocery workers do their eight-hour shifts, day in, day out, being exposed to different strangers every minute of the day.
If you can’t sit 10 feet away from children (who seldom get the disease) for five lousy hours a day, change your profession.
Better yet, stay home. I would prefer that my children not be exposed to such a pusillanimous Drama Queen anyway.
Better that she does not teach.
Who wants a hysterical air head teaching their children?
Sedro Woolley is in Skagit County, Washington. There have been 668 cases in Skagit County and a whopping 16 deaths in the county.
Skagit County has a twice weekly TB clinic.
Wonder if she’s as worried about TB..?
Fine. I’ll continue to pay to keep you away from my children, just as I’ve been doing for the past 25 years.
So stay home. Let the union pay you.
So much for the “Teachers are Heros” signs ...
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
Then everyone can homeschool and you can quit your job that's not needed any more.
Or maybe just defund the public schools.
Thats fine selfless martyr teacher, dont workand because youre not working, you should have your pay and benefits cut by at least 50%.
Better yet, just quit your dangerous job as a teacher. There are plenty who would be willing to take over your job.
Quit your teaching job and learn to code. Wait, never mindmost public school teachers arent bright enough to learn coding.
My granddaughters County (Florida) is trying to pull this stunt too!
Shes more than ready to return to school!
But this week the School Board had a meeting inviting parents and teachers....
....it was pathetic
Teachers talk of writing their Wills.....disgusting
So instead of making a decision, the School Board punted.....
My response if.....IF YOU DONT WANT TO RETURN AND TEACH..FINE!
...and well give you the job and thousands of others who have lost theirs!!!!!
I bet folks would love to move to Florida!!!!
Is simple,,,,,maintain 6 feet of distance, wear gloves and a mask. Surely you can handle that, if not, get a real job.
(Editing).....
.....and well give your job to thousands of others
If Im asked to return, Ill have to walk away.
Walk away. People make these types of employment decisions everyday.
She’s got nothing to worry about if she wears her mask.
I would like you to publicly take responsibility for the actions you encourage.
School opening is part of a larger question. If we only focus on the potential of getting sick huge numbers of people will die and the US will become a 3rd world country.
Let me explain. We know that meat packing is a covid hot spot. Should all such facilities be closed?
We know local, state and federal governments depend heavily on personal income and business income for tax revenues. What critical and life saving programs should be de-funded by your request to keep the economy shut down? Food stamps? Mental health services, Medicaid? How about de-funding vaccine development?
If those are hard choices we as a society can't make, which age or medical condition groups of people should be protected? How about youth that don't seem to die as often? No, then elderly? How about young parents? Where do middle aged school teachers fit into the mix?
Tell us who should die so you can risk getting a disease that has a tiny percentage chance of death if a young or middle aged person gets?
No one is making you do anything. Either do the job or dont.
Learn to code, Karen.
