I had to read the headline a half dozen times before it made any sense.

The team got it’s name from the boston tea party. The team was originally in Boston. The tea party was an act of patriots who dressed up like what they called “redskins”. That was the official story... the redskins did it. The football team being in Boston was originally named the braves, then changed to the redskins. It made sense because of the history of the region. 4 years later the franchise was moved to Washington but kept the team name.
Currently the DC teams are called Nationals, Capitals and Wizards. Doubt they’ll use Bullets again. Maybe Senators could be used. Then again there was the old slogan Washington...first in war first in peace last in the American league.

Most real American Indians like the Redskins name. It is white leftists that have an issue with it.
Also “Oklahoma” is from the Choctaw language, not Ottawa. Why throw in a random fact and get it wrong?
