I didn’t click on the link but honestly cannot tell if this is satire or real.
Home Owners Association - petty little dictators with a little power to make your life miserable - what if they had guns and were not afraid to use them.
That is what you will get if they remove police.
I have enough belief in people that this idea will not last long.
I remember when Political Correctness started. Everyone thought it was a joke. There were even satirical books coming out ridiculing the nonsense. But, within a few years it was becoming more and more entrenched to the point it is now essentially the state-sponsored religion.
The whole “abolish or defund the police” was considered a bad joke until all these dem politicians actually started proposing just that. Once the media moguls who run the democrat party start pushing this nonsene for real, it won’t be long before a hoard of republicans who don’t want to be called “racist” start jumping on the band wagon. I’m guessing that Romney will be among the first big names to start kneeling and groveling. Lindsy Graham is another I suspect.
Maybe, but you can find quotes where these loons say these types of things.
Because thats how satire works. Draw out a situation from real life, tacitly agree with it despite its lunacy, and indirectly point out its stupidity.
This Council president is stupid...
Did anyone tell her how silly she is sounding in this Twitter message?
I have not heard of any politician pushing the idea of disbanding LAPD or Santa Monica PD...Yet...
It is very hard to tell what is simply sarcasm now and what is not.
The very suggestion of eliminating the police department is nothing short of insane.
I do believe that we may need to consider some changes since some police departments have become a little large and heavy handed. Blacks are not the only people who get anxious when they see blue lights behind them and that is for a reason. I have not had that problem in several years but I have had it for what I consider no good reason and was treated like public enemy No. 1 even though I am a senior citizen and white. The cops in some places could use some lessons in community relations and a little less in weapons and tactics.
The only truth in the New York Times is in the obit section about the New York Times.
If you don’t. you’re a fool — and a black supremacist.
If I were a Minneapolis city policeman, or maybe even a policeman elsewhere in Minnesota, I would start making plans to find employment in some other more rational state even if I had to take a loss in moving. Even if I were not a cop, I would be considering moving.
Yes, but complaints of police brutality are sharply down.
There's "half-@SS3d" -- and there's half-reading a sentence.
Neither is the place for a FReeper to be...
e.g.. Failure to read all parts of a statement may lead to the belief that the First Amendment does not protect the free exercise of religion...
Redemption may be attained by reading (thoroughly & carefully) The 1619 Project - The New York Times. </SARCASM>
What is that from? It looks like something I would enjoy.
Monty Python - The Piranha Brothers sketch
“You mean black people never get their garages broken into?”
LOL. I remember driving one noonday with a white friend through a solid black neighborhood in New Orleans.
My white friend was astonished that every home & business had burglar bars.
He thought only white people got broken into.
