On Friday, it was reported that State Department Inspector General Steve Linick had been fired. Immediately, the left pounced calling it an unlawful act of retaliation. The story was that Linick was conducting an investigation into Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for asking subordinates to run personal errands for him and his wife.
Rep. Eliot Engel (D-NY) said, I have learned that the Office of the Inspector General had opened an investigation into Secretary Pompeo. Mr. Linicks firing amid such a probe strongly suggests that this is an unlawful act of retaliation.
House Democrats may want to hold their fire and take a look at a report which appeared in The Washington Post on Monday.
Brian Bulatao, the State Departments undersecretary for management, told The Post that Linick had been fired due to an alleged pattern of unauthorized disclosures, or leaks to the news media about investigations that were in an early draft form. According to The Post, Bulatao said that officials had no evidence Linick was personally responsible for the leaks but that the disclosures had the potential of tainting the outcome of ongoing probes.
Bulatao said the matter first arose last fall after media reports about an ongoing investigation that cited two government sources involved in carrying out the investigation. You know the IG is normally charged with carrying out the investigation. It certainly was a very strong finger-pointing at IG Linicks way."

The orders have already gone out to the relevant IC commands, including INSCOM. Now FBI’s access will only be granted on a per-incident basis if matter is not directly related to terrorism or a criminal activity under active investigation Jack Posobiec (@JackPosobiec) May 18, 2020
To be clear:
With the exception of terrorism and criminal matters the FBI is out of the raw intelligence business. Jack Posobiec (@JackPosobiec) May 18, 2020
Hillary Clinton ripped State Department watchdog fired by Trump
Linick never worked as IG while Hillary was Secretary. He didn't get there until several months after Kerry was appointed.

The media knows who their sources are.
Remember the witchhunt about Scooter Libby? They knew it wasn’t him. But they don’t like to reveal their sources.

Obama Expands Surveillance Powers on His Way Out
BY KATE TUMMARELLOJANUARY 12, 2017
With mere days left before President-elect Donald Trump takes the White House, President Barack Obamas administration just finalized rules to make it easier for the nations intelligence agencies to share unfiltered information about innocent people.
New rules issued by the Obama administration under Executive Order 12333 will let the NSAwhich collects information under that authority with little oversight, transparency, or concern for privacyshare the raw streams of communications it intercepts directly with agencies including the FBI, the DEA, and the Department of Homeland Security, according to a report today by the New York Times.
The New York Times reported this morning that the Obama administration has put into place new rules allowing the NSA to disseminate raw signals intelligence information. According to a 23-page, mostly declassified copy of the procedures, released today, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper signed the rules on Dec. 15 and Attorney General Loretta Lynch signed them on Jan. 3.
predictable. it’s the trump hump in the news cycle; something happens, the MSM loses it’s mind, jerry nadler threatens impeachment, and it later turns out that EVERY BIT of the reporting on the event was completely and irretrievably wrong.
You would have to believe in unicorns first, before believing the FBI, or a.k.a., Federal Bureau of DemocRATS Investigating Republicans only.
It’s worth noting that the story about this has already died in the Swamp Media. It flared up for only a day and is already gone. I suspect we will hear of it no more.
Linick the Leaker.
I like it!
