In the next few weeks we will have our answer.

So, everybody can stay calm and wait or...

We can yell and scream, name-call, finger-point, and howl at the moon.

Hmm—I wonder what folks here will choose...

I have chosen to live my life and respect those that want to social distance, wear masks and stay isolated. I go to the stores that are open and plentiful here in Raleigh. I have attended 2 Tuesday protests with thousand of my fellow NCers standing shoulder to shoulder. Que Sira sira!

I believe what ever we see we won't see it for several weeks. The "reopenings" are gradual and people will ease into it - just because a business reopens doesn't mean it is going to snap back to 100% overnight. When you factor in the 2 to 3 week incubation period before infected people show symptoms, its going to take some time.

I believe what we will see is the numbers of cases remaining steady. Maybe a few ups and downs. Lots of competing factors to push the case number both up and down. However, I believe we will see the mortality rate falling off fairly significantly.

I’m not above howling at the moon. It can be rather cathartic.

I agree. It is too soon to see any big swing in tnfections or deaths. At this point we are in a painfully slow decline from the peak rates. But down is down and that is a good thing.

Going forward, the absolutely necessary to lift the lockdown rules will inevitably push the rates higher.. But that slow downtrend and, hopefully, a seasonal downturn could offset the expected bump up in caseloads.

A month from now we will know if that is what is happening. But it is too soon to make the call right now.
