...Apparently, the political theory is that poor people support Democrats at the polls, so impoverishing most people means permanent majorities keeping them in power...In the nearly half-year between now and the time the country goes to the polls, blue-state voters are going to wonder why they should be imprisoned at home, their children out of schools, and their finances depleted while elsewhere in the country it is still the land of the free. Already, there have been protests in Michigan and elsewhere, demanding loosening of restrictions, and more are planned in blue states like New Jersey...

Thanks for the entertaining and edifying side tour for which your phrase sowed the seed. Not knowing the meaning of the phrase, but having seen it numerous times before, my curiosity was aroused to search out the meaning. And, you know how that sometimes goes. One thing leads to another. And the next thing you know, after considering the ominous, likely truthfulness of your statement, I find myself exploring the life and works of author D. H. Lawrence (who apparently used the phrase). From Lady Chatterley's Lover to his ranch in New Mexico. Quite the mind trip. Thanks for getting it started.
Exhibit A: Nicolae Ceaucescu
Rumor is, “there a lot of other exhibits.”
Where’s that exponential spike in cases we were supposed to see in Georgia when they opened up almost two weeks ago? The lockdowns are BS, and as more and more American states re-open, the UnAmerican states will look more and more like the asses they are.

Does it ever dawn on them that all of this will be funded with increased taxes, fees and regulations. Those who have jobs will pay for everything 3 times over.
If they thought they would pay any political price for this, they wouldn't have even tried it. They knew their voters would love it.
My Democratic governor wont. John Bel Edwards of Louisiana got re-elected by a slim margin last year over a really bad Republican candidate and hes term limited, so he doesnt have to face the voters again. Unless he decides to run for higher office like the Senate. Not sure when our two Republican senators are up for re-election.
When he announced salons couldn’t open until the end of this month he caught holy hell and pulled back.
Chicks dig depopulationist jerks.
Who’s up for re election?

Dem governors in
Delaware
Montana (gov term limited)
North Carolina
Washington
Some GOP governors up for re election
New Hampshire (Who knew? Sununu!, as an ad from the past went, regarding his brother)
Indiana
Utah (gov retiring; former prez candidate Jon Huntsman Jr among candidates)
West Virginia
In Mass. Republican-in-name-only Charlie Baker next
faces voters in 2022. Biden mistakenly referred to him as “Charlie Parker”, a long deceased jazz legend.
Foolishness on two grounds:
1) Lockdowns are popular - no, VERY popular. Ending them is not.
2) The outcome of ending lockdowns is by no means known. Chances are less than 50% of signifucant harm - but not a whole lot less.
Who will pay for this economic and microbial disaster in November is by no means certain.
apparently- they also dig abusers evidently- they forget- they will be old and treated like the elderly have been treated by cuomo in the not to distant future- no foresight i guess-
