With the cost and relative lack of side effects when given under the supervision of a physician, Hydroxychloroquine SHOULD be the first treatment. If it doesn’t help, then go to Remdesivir, far more costly, far more invasive, and has far many more and serious side effects. Last I heard, it was 30% effective, but had a 50% chance of either serious side effects or long term organ damage, is 200 times more expensive,and requires a hospital admission.
