On April 16, authorities arrested 36-year-old Galen Wood, owner of Kitchen Table Games in Pinellas Park, FL for operating a “non-essential” business and violating a safer at home order.

Wood was charged with operating a non-essential business and traveling to operate a non-essential business.

Wood was issued a warning on each occasion, before deputies conducted a non-essential business compliance check at his store on April 16. Wood refused to close the store and was arrested shortly after.

Wood is the first Florida business owner to be arrested under such orders.

Today, State Representative Anthony Sabatini announced on Twitter that the 6th District Circuit Court dropped their case against Galen Wood. Sabatini, the firebrand conservative who represents House District 32, who took a quick break from his legislative duties to legally represent Galen Wood, the owner of Kitchen Table Games in Pinellas Park. FL.

According to Sabatini, the court’s decision makes it clear that there is NO valid legal authority for either the state or local emergency orders.

Yay! I posted an article from Ireland today, describing the insane violation of rights and repression that is going on there, and the author’s conclusion was that we had to go to the courts now to fight back and then go to the legislators and get laws passed that will make sure this never happens again.

"Wood was charged with operating a non-essential business and traveling to operate a non-essential business. "

No one is being forced to visit these establishments.

That's what's so ridiculous about the hair-on-fire posters around here with their gloom & doom about America being finished by this. Maybe in their particular jurisdiction, but that's not representative of every single locale. The judicial review of what's been going on hasn't even got rolling good yet.

“Non-essential” is clearly an arbitrary concept with no legal pedigree.

To a Divide & Control totalitarian virtue signaler it could be used like "bitter clinger", "deplorable", "dog-faced pony soldier", "useless eater" or "jew".

Badges? We don't have to show you any steeenkin badges.

I've seen "non-essential" used in eugenicist's conversation.

Can we depend on Roberts especially if the Wash Post prints an opinion piece that non-essential are non-essential and should be closed down?

Roberts. Worst GOP SCOTUS appointment ever!

The purpose of the constitutions are to ensure the freedom and liberties of the people, not to ensure government can place restrictions on them and close them down.

Why have a government if that’s what it is for?

Why?

If you read Rousseau he will explain it. Not that you will like or agree his take.

You’d think that intel agencies and 5 eyes would have some solid evidence that could be put to citizens of the planet by now.

Speaking of...

The Leader of the Democrats

Now let us examine Rousseau on this subject. This writer on public affairs is the supreme authority of the democrats. And although he bases the social structure upon the will of the people, he has, to a greater extent than anyone else, completely accepted the theory of the total inertness of mankind in the presence of the legislators:

Correct. A court can’t simply drop a case. It can dismiss a case in response to a motion to dismiss or issue a summary judgement in response to a motion for summary judgement, but it can’t dismiss a case on its own. Only the party bringing a case can drop it.
