It’s fine in theory, but can you point to one in the wild? I’d like to see an elected official that actually does that. Usually, it means a liberal who knows that tax cuts are a popular thing to run on. Such people, Bill Weld and Gary Johnson come to mind, usually end up just being liberal Republicans. At least the fiscal conservative/social liberal configuration has a political home (GOP); the other way around isn’t allowed at all.

There’s a reason this came up in a thread about Justin Amash and trannies and government money. The surprising part is that he was honest about it.
