From ancient memory, my recollection is that in the early 50’s the bicycle seat pervs were known as “frimps” and the bubble bath freaks as “jarfs”.

Goes to show how lingo and styles are no longer
as regional as they were when we were coming up,
Put it on the advancement of satellites, cable TV,
instant international communications,

I grew up in NorCal and was shocked when I learned that
in Britain and the Pacific Northwest cigarettes were
called fags. When I was 13 my family moved from my
rural NorCal town to the outskirts of Washington DC
so my dad could work on a PhD for a year at U of Md.
I had worn Levi 501s every day to school until Levi
cords came into vogue. In the DC area jeans were
called dungarees and if you wore those you were as
low rent as possible. And it was worse if you wore
a Hawaiian shirt. Hell, in Cali that was hip and
expected but in Prince Georges County, MD they even
had a derogatory name for that style which escapes
me. By the time I got back to NorCal (’65) those baby
blue pre-pegged Levis were a thing.

Today, asses are hanging the back of pants wherever
you go. Now that’s advancement!
