fortunately for the men in the boat, Bligh was able to determine the most direct route to the nearest land, Timor, I believe it was, based on his cartographic knowledge...also, they were lucky to not be swamped by the storms they experienced...
Having done some sailing in my time, I still see those men in their 20 foot boat making that voyage. Amazing!
