disagree; Howard was more true to life...Laughton stomped around with a sour look the entire time, but Howard could look completely placid and undisturbed and in an instant take the cruelest action, with the smallest of sardonic satisfaction...Brando, however, was wrong for Fletcher Christian, Mel Gibson was better, though not by much; needed someone who could combined a conflicted mind with sufficient charisma to cause men to follow him...

I prefer Laughton. I think Howard’s best work came in The Third Man.
