He may be a talented thoracic surgeon but that doesnt make him qualified to conduct a clinical drug trial. My former orthopedist was one of the best in the country but that doesnt make him qualified to do open heart surgery. YMMV.
My guess is he wasn’t going to be the one doing the work. He’s the guy who got the grant money. But it’s all moot anyway.
