I picture in My mind the ‘69 &’70 Championships, Earl Campbell, Daryll Royal years. I was helping take care of Doc (Damned cancer) who was one of the Icons and Car Hops from
Dirty Martin’s Burger (Doc’s in the center pic scrolled down) place on Guadalupe St. (Now I want an OT Special, Onion Rings and a Chocolate Malted Shake !!!) One day I was taking Doc some Groceries and hooking up a space heater for Him when there was a knock on the door and I went and answered it. On the porch stood Earl Campbell having come by to see how Doc was doing and brought him some of Earl’s Sausage, some already cooked Pigs Feet and Greens. Doc and Earl were both from Tyler, Texas and Earl was a Regular at Dirty’s Place.
