Censored: Another US Firm Does The Chinese Communist Party’s Dirty Work

I write for Quora. Quora is a social media website owned by Google where people ask and answer each other’s questions. Like most social media sites, it trends Left and anyone with an opposing viewpoint has to be extra careful to avoid having their content pulled from the site. It has a BNBR policy – “be nice be respectful” that is supposed to deter trolls. The content policies are policed by algorithms under the supervision of humans.

The site is a favorite of the Wumao, China’s 50 Cent Army that attacks anyone who challenges the narratives pushed by the Chinese Communist Party. As someone who studied Chinese, and planned to live there until Tiananmen happened, I’ve brushed up against these trolls numerous times. But in most cases I’ve been successful at getting my posts reinstated or “uncollapsed” by appealing to the Quora moderators.

But not yesterday. The question was: “Do people in America blame China for bringing covid-19?” I wrote the following....

The Chinese, through the company TenCent and many others have been pumping money into game developers, movie studios, and Internet platforms to push propaganda. Lucrative business deals allow China to call the shots with regard to how their country has been treated.

It wasn’t that long ago that the NBA bent over for China and most movies that seek a wide release in China must not include any content which paints China in a bad light. Heck, last week Sec. Pompeo admitted there are governors who are on a list from China as “cooperative”.

It’s quite insidious how well China has been operating in the US to influence policy. They know many industries will do anything for $$$ and China has plenty of that to throw around.

I sometimes write on Quora and there are actually many conservative and very informative posts among others (though I often downvote liberal ones and those with vulgar language). But yes, often posts are censored yet usually the appeal is in my favor, thank God, and in response to the question "Do people in America blame China for bringing covid-19?," the top post for that questions is actually from Louis E. Walker, former Surgeon at U.S. Army (1989-2014) who states ,

The CCP knew about it as early as December, tried to suppress news of it for political purposes, jailed the whistle blower physician (who allegedly later died of COVID-19) who reported it, there are serious doubts about the validity of their statistics even now, the reports of rioting in Hubei province (ground zero for the outbreak) and neighboring Jiangxi province casts considerable doubt on their claim that it’s been contained, and I don’t think any other country is relying on Chinese data in confronting COVID-19.
