I just don’t genuflect at the Altar of MacArthur.

By the inaccuracy of what your own hand has written, your opinion has been formed by unreliable sources.

Exactly. Patton never liked him.

“Why would you suspect I have not read it?”

Question was directed to those in dialogue with you.
I have little doubt you have you are familiar withit.
I have been searching for a hard back copy for quite awhile.

Rather than relying on what a leftist historian wants you to believe, why not read what his reporting officers thought of him.

My grandfather who served on his staff in Australia and Japan swore eternal loyalty to the man. He was lead delegate to great Mac in Denver on the way back from Korea after Truman fired him.

How was having all forces on alert with air patrols up at dawn searching for the Japanese flat footed?

They didn't need to look for the Nips. The Japs landed where expected. And the Japanese found the American and Filipino forces right where they expected.

Are you trying to say MacArthur was somehow responsible for the defense of Korea in June 1950,

The portion of the former Japanese territory of Korea south of the 38th parallel was within MacA's sphere of responsibility. KMAG was under the 8th Army.

What American commander in 1950 would not believe that an attack by China would be treated by Washington as an act of war?

One that thought strategically instead of tactically.

Clark was attacked on Dec 8, and the Japanese began their ground offensive against Luzon on Dec 10 when twelve transports with naval escorts landed troops at Aparri and Vigan. However, "flat footed" MacArthur's air force attacked the transports, sinking four and damaging three others. I don't call sending 25 percent of an invasion fleet to the bottom as being caught flat footed but you can go on believing whatever leftist historians tell you to believe.

The portion of the former Japanese territory of Korea south of the 38th parallel was within MacA's sphere of responsibility.

No it wasn't. Truman removed Korea from MacArthur's command shortly after WWII and placed it under State Department control.

One that thought strategically instead of tactically.

You must like Bradley.

At the Wake Island conference with Truman, October 15, 1950, No one from Washington, not Truman, Bradley, State Department or CIA expressed belief that China would attack.

When asked his own opinion, MacArthur recognized the considerable Chinese buildup but expressed his belief that given our largely unopposed air forces with their potential of destroying at will bases of attack and lines of supply, no Chinese military commander would hazard the commitment of large forces. The risk of their utter destruction through lack of supply would be too great.

There was no disagreement from anyone present at the conference. MacArthur didn't realize he was being sandbagged.

I am, 20 years, but not back then. I served from 1988 - 2008. I just never appreciated Mac’s lead from the rear way of war fighting. I didn’t like his decision to take Peleliu either. No need for it. Not fair comparing a theater Commander to a Battalion Commander, but Gen Mac was no Chesty Puller, that’s for sure.

That's what's called fake history. MacArthur was continually out front exposing himself to fire in a way that terrified officers accompanying him... some of whom became casualties in the process.

I didn’t like his decision to take Peleliu either. No need for it.

Look at the map. How can you expect to retake the Philippines when the Navy's right flank is exposed to attack by land based aircraft from Peleliu?

True. In WWI, MacArthur always led his men across no man's land unarmed. I don't know if Chesty would have had the nerve for that.

Would these be the same men who Mac routed and burned out of Anacostia in ‘32?

I think we all understand you are a staunch supporter of Mac and nothing any of us could say will change your mind. Have a good day sir!

If they were communists or members of the communist front organization the Workers Ex-servicemen's League which organized the bonus marches across the US in the same manner as is done now by the Occupy and Antifa groups.

Contrary to nearly 90 years of red lies, not a single shot was fired by MacArthur's troops in clearing out the camps, just tear gas and steady pressure.

I think we all understand you are a staunch supporter of Mac and nothing any of us could say will change your mind. Have a good day sir!

You can change my mind with facts but over the years, no one has done that. Instead, I have to deal with one outlandish claim after another which are all part of the relentless red smear campaign against MacArthur that has raged unabated since 1932.
