If you live in San Francisco, you’re likely pretty familiar with walking past addicts shooting up heroin on the street, shattered car glass shards on the ground or homeless camps. If you live elsewhere and only hear about it on the news or from friends and family, it’s hard to put it in perspective. San Francisco is a city struggling with a multitude of social issues; from drug and alcohol abuse, crime rates and inequality.
What was once a hub for newcomers is leaving a bad taste in the mouths of its former residents as more and more citizens of the San Francisco Bay Area are jumping ship at a record-breaking pace. This is what happens when one Party has been in control for TOO many years.
The cost of living in San Francisco is staggering. Renting a two-bedroom apartment costs $4,650 a month on average, which is the highest rate in the country, and if you want to buy a home in the Bay Area, the median price is $825,000.
In fact, people are fleeing the Bay Area at a rate that hasn’t been seen for an entire decade. However, home prices are just one factor in the exodus. Another issue is California’s changing demographics.
San Francisco has more drug addicts than public high school students.
Also, the homeless problem is out of control.

t’s not compassionate to allow addicts and mentally ill to ignore common good laws and tie police hands, like public urination, vagrancy, etc. Health, safety, and security of any community can’t be sustained, yet this is now a norm in all liberal cities. Why keep voting for this? They have to get rid of Pelosi, Gavin Newsom and London Breed for things to change. As long as they’re in charge SF and California will remain a shithole.
