Buttigieg entered the Navy as a Lieutenant from Day One with no training

Above are Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr. who heads the Pentagon (left) and Presidential candidate and former Navy Lt. Pete Buttigieg.

How is that possible? Entering the military as a Navy Lieutenant. As a civilian. Without training. Source is Page One of Pete Buttigieg’s military records. Linked here: https://www.scribd.com/document/446733502/Poppy-Pete-Buttigieg-s-Military-Records-22-pages Who approved it? General Joseph Dunford or Charlie Flynn? Yep. Charlie is Mike Flynn’s brother.

He’s rather like Obama isn’t he. It’s like a guy going from teller to Bank President in a month.

It say right there in his record that he went through the direct commission training course. That is a thing, and not all that unusual.

He’s a Harvard grad with foreign language proficiency. If he wants to commission in the naval reserve as an Intel officer he’s not going to have a problem doing so. I seriously doubt his language skills are as good as his supporters claim, and I doubt he was using them in the military, Intel officers at his level mostly answer phones and push paper.

He probably didn’t do much more during his deployment than push paper from the left side of his desk to the right side of his desk, but he didn’t know that ahead of time and there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s plenty to disagree with Buttigieg about, but his brief and uneventful military service isn’t one of them for me.

Worth repeating.

Appears Charlie and Mike Flynn are a couple of covert pillow biters on the “down-low”.

Looking at his wiki timeline, he graduated Oxford in 2007, and then spent 3 years at McKinsey & Company, doing something "confidential".

Pete Buttigieg’s Work At McKinsey Is A Secret. Was his three years at McKinsey a CIA cover?

He then, in 2009, he got sworn in as an ensign in the Naval Reserves, in Intelligence.

He's got "CIA/Deep State" written all over him.

Requires sign-off from up high.

Kind of like Hunter Biden’s commission?

Because he was/is a CIA pass-around. Just like Anderson Cooper.

This pisses me off I had to damn well almost die to get an O-3 after my name

I only know about doctors, so I can't shed any light on this specific case.

My Dad was in the V-12 program, went to med school as a midshipman, graduated MD-ENS and retired as O-3 after 3 years active duty and 17 years of reserve status with weekend drill (rounds at a Naval Hospital). His O-3 rank was conferred at retirement, all his service was as Lt(jg).

When the draft ended and the Berry Plan graduates dried up, there was a proposal to grant a pay differential for doctors who volunteered for active duty (because it would be hard to get volunteers otherwise). Congress rejected this and said, "Just commission them as O-5 and O-6 instead".

So, if I were directly commissioned today, I would go in as O-6, which is sort of ludicrous when you consider what a man has to do to advance to that rank in the real Navy.

Reform of the military and VA medical system is a serious problem, but there are too many iron rice bowls involved to really get anywhere.

how does a person with no military training become inducted into the US Navy as a Lieutenant?

Grade O-3, bypassing Ensign (O-1) and Lt. Junior Grade (O-2) in the process. Usually reserved for medical and legal officers, for pay purposes.

He and McKinsey have released the details since then.

Pete Buttigieg releases list of McKinsey clients

Well, we know that John Kerry served in Cambodia because he told us himself—Nixon sent him there in December 1968. So he probably was in Vietnam too.

I’d be willing to bet that Petey was CIA or some other civilian intel agency. They threw him an officer’s commission as cover or to facilitate his work.

I’ve often thought that Barack Obama’s family... particularly his late mother... would have been an interesting asset while living in Indonesia. His maternal grandfather’s radical connections also stink to high heaven.

The CIA seems to be doing more than dabbling in domestic politics, so this all ‘fits’.

He did. Commissioned as an ensign and promoted regularly. Discharged as a LT (senior grade).

Doctors usually go right in with a commision.

I’m not sure how other services handle it, but the USAF has a two-week Commissioned Officer Training (COT) where the new Docs, Lawyers and Chaplains learn to keep their gig line straight.
